Many of these companies work for other consoles too though....
Personal favourites are Square and Konami.

My favourite games company has to be EA.
Codemasters, EA and Konami are all very good in my books.
Activision (for Tony hawk, Matt Hoffman and Spiderman), EA (for Quake, SSX and their basketball games, especialy NBA Street) and Konami (Come on, you know why...The Simpsons Arcade Game. Oh and Metal Gear Solid).
Konami, Rockstar and Midas (for their work on Dynasty Warriors, one of my favourite games) are the three main companies, which I feel are good.
I'd say EA are my least favourite, since they tend to release games earlier than the developers would like to bring in more money. That's what happened with MOH on the PC anyway, and a lot of other games I suspect.
