While i have a few games with both Widescreen and 60Hz modes, most games out there are still 4:3 and 50Hz. Why was GT3 only 50Hz? I would like to c more games make use of the newer technology, at least then it wouldn't have to be "stretched" to fit my widescreen tv.

If you ever get to play a game in Widescreen mode on a Widescreen TV, you won't think that.

GT3 was only 50Hz, but it does display in Anamorphic Widescreen, and that'll do for me.

I don't really care about the Hz of a game, as long as it's full-screen. And all games should offer a Widescreen mode.

Wide screen tv's are for people that have very low ceilings.

My TV has a widescreen function on it. I played my GameCube games in widescreen and I definately preferred the fullscreen mode...

Ah, but...

1. Is it just a Widescreen mode, or is it a proper Widescreen TV?

2. If it's a 4:3 TV with a Widescreen mode, then it gives you black borders and a squashed picture.

3. If you play a game that doesn't have Widescreen support in Widescreen mode on a Widescreen TV, then you also get a squashed picture.

However, play a game which supports Widescreen on a Widescreen TV in Widescreen mode, and you'll wish they all supported it.

I'm quite happy playing my 60hz GameCube games on my normal screen TV though.

Widescreen ain't anything special.
