Anyway, why Xbox... here's a guess...
When the N64 came out, fewer people bought it than the PS. So why did 3rd parties make games for it? Because they had a captive audience- they release a game on a console with a low game listing and it'll sell!
With the Xbox 2 things are important. Firstly, the captive audience want rpgs, and there aren't any square rpgs to compete against. Secondly, the Xbox gamers are, on the whole, a lot more hardcore than GC gamers due to the console price. (To prove the point, the games:console ratio for the xbox is far greater than that of the gc). Hence a high proportion of xbox gamers will buy the game than of gc gamers. Even though there are more gcs out there, the xbox will probably allow sales.
Oh, and as for the Xbox doing dismally... it's doing far better than the n64 did!
Sonic
Why Sega are releasing it on X-Box is just beyond me! The X-Box is doing PANTS in Japan and not BRILLIANTLY in Europe. And those are the two main areas Shenmue did well! i.e. Shenmue 2 didn't get released in the US! So why on earth are Sega releasing it exclusively on X-Box!?!
MADNESS!
I mean they released Jet Set Radio Future on X-Box, and surposedly that didn't do very well. Release that on Cube or PS2 and it would have done helluva lot better!
Sega have lots their marbles me'sa thinks!
