nah, i think a trophy i 'designed' myself would be cool

Ironically, the trophy compo prize is a trophy.
Bet you didn't see THAT coming. Basically you take a snapshot of SSBM in action (NB : A decent, exciting snapshot in Camera Mode) and send it in. Best gets that photo in trophy form.
Personally I'd rather have a couple of GC games but oh well.
