Things aren't so rosy between Rare and Ninty so we could get Rare developing for us. It's just a rumour, but fingers crossed...

Okay so Donkey Kong was pretty crap, agreed. However, whether Lylat Wars has been around for yonks or not is not important. It's the quality of the game and on the N64, Lylat Wars was feckin good! As for Perfect Dark, it's a hell of a lot better than TimeSplitters. I always thought Half-Life was highly over-rated anyway, and Red Faction was fairly good but it just ripped off Half-Life.

Oh and Conker was crap. What I played of it at least.

Perfect Dark, Conkers Bad Fur Day and Starfox adventures on PS2!!

Who cares man *yawns*, Don't you think Starfox is getting a bit old now nintendo, I mean it has been around since the SNES! Conkers is simple minded toilet humor that anyone over the age of ten who doesn't laugh at farts won't be missing much and Perfect Dark *covers yawn with clenched fist* well the original wan't bad, i have it myself but it doesn't come close to Half Life, Red Faction or Timesplitters so there you have it. If Rare do start making games for other consoles then Perfect Dark Zero might be worth a look in especially since it won't be using the dreadfull analog stick from the N64 (geesh) otherwise they can quite happily trundle off to ninty HQ especially if their highest scoring game in the Official Ninty Mag is Donkey Kong 64 which is a complete pile of pants :-D

There's no way that Sony would ever snap them up as you put it they might start developing for all consoles but Sony wont snap them up. All signs point in the way that Rare aren't going anywhere just yet. No other company would allow them to delay the releases of their games for so long so you may find the quality takes a massive dip. Anyway they're still a 2nd party developer and it's highly likely they will stay that way for the time being.

Oh and Starfox wont be coming to Sony guys, it's owned by Nintendo.

yup i have heard off a few *neutral* web sites that Rare has been trying to get a PS2 publishing deal, if Perfect Dark ever came onto PS2 that would be amazing because it is the best FPS i have ever played

Even if Rare do go multi-platform, other consoles will not be seeing Starfox. Perfect Dark and Conker are possible seeing as they are Rare's own characters but Nintendo own the rights to Starfox since they made it.

Problem is that most of this rumour originates from sources so unreliable as to be useless, and the Activision rumour proved false as well. The next Starfox is being developed by Namco under license from Nintendo so the chances of seeing Starfox are slim even if this rumour were true. The latest issue of NGC has news that the rumour has proved completely false anyway.. And finally...the two systems hardware is very different and any conversion would take a while, we all kno ow long it takes Rare to make one version of a game, god knows how long a conversion would take them....

Rare I don't think will leave Ninty, but c'mon, face it, they are the best game developers out there, and if Sony snapped them up then the PS2 would sell even more than it has already.

A lot of Nintys buy Ninty consoles because of Rare, so if they moved to Sony, then Ninty would lose a lot of sales.
