Although Microsoft are releasing their first gaming console they haven't been really though of as competition for the major games companies, Nintendo, Sega and Sony.
This means that if Nintendo do take over Sega, Nintendo will own two thirds of the console market and will probably give Sony a scare! If Nintendo are powerful enough to take over their main rivals (sega) then what hope has Sony got?
If the take over does take place I think it will benefit more than just the average gamer. Prices of games will decrease by a huge amount and the range of games will be magnificent!
If Nintendo are planning to take over Sega I will back them 100%
Sony don't do research! That's why the PS2 games aren't selling in Japan! Too many people bought it as a cheap DVD!
In fact one of Nintendo's partners (not Panasonic) are planning on releasing a DVD Gamecube for £250! That's £50 cheaper than the PS2 and would probably buy you 2 new games!
Ha, gameboy played mostly by 8 year olds with an IQ of 56 my Ar$e!
Loads of people in year 11 (5th form) still play their Gameboys (including me) and considering I'm in the top set for Maths, Welsh, English and anything else we're put in sets for I think I've got an IQ slightly higher than 56 don't you?
What about the GBA? How does that compare with the PSX? 32-bit graphics with 4-player abilities! You need to buy another Playstation for that!
And Playstation 2 has been compared with the Sega Saturn which didn't last to long! What do you Sony fans think of that eh?
Remember, Nintendo have always appealed t a wide market and not just the older gamers who wont have time to pay games soon with jobs. The younger generation are the future of gaming so why do you think it's bad that 8 year old children play Gameboys? Isn't that more bad news for Sony? Children playing on Nintendo's consoles? I think Nintendo know what they are doing when they are selling all these games for the young and the old!
That brings us back to the point of Nintendo being a babyish console company. Why is it a babyish console company? Because it uses imagination instead of repetition?
Nintendo uses the same characters in every game. So what? You like Final Fantasy games, you can't wait for Metal Gear Solid 2, WWF is a huge craze with the same characters doind the same things over and over again. I like following the characters in their adventures! Mario is a classic, he may be a short fat plumber but at least he isn't throwing sex at you constantly like a certain character called Lara Croft!
Now Luigi is getting his own game and I'm glad about that! He's another one of nintendo's famous characters and he's not short and fat, nope he's tall and lanky!
What if you watched TV series's like games, "oh my god" I'd hear you say, "Sonya's been in Eastenders last episode! What is she doing in this one?" "Oh my, Superman is in the series New Adventures of Superman! How can this happen?"
And what about Buffy the vampire slayer? She's been in all the episodes since the start! I don't see everyone complaining about that!
I could write a whole book on stupid Sony fans who don't have a clue! At least Sega fans aren't like you! Although Sega is also a quality games company so the fans don't need to go as low as the Sony fans do.
