Exactly how much are you looking forward to the 24th November? Have you all booked the day off work, or are you going to call a sickie at school? Do you think your teachers/bosses won't suss what's going on?

I accept no responsibility for anyone having a day off on Nov 24th, or being ill on that particular day.

Phew.

I have not booked the day off yet as I don not have the confirmation letter yet and thus dont want to have to change the day off if it turns out that my PS2 is not turning up.

If I get confirmation that my PS2 is turning up on release day I will do my best to get the day off work. As you have said Ali I cant really chuck a sickie as my boss knows that I am desperate to get a PS2 and he also knows that it comes out on the 24th.

I have loads of holiday left to take it is just a matter of whether things are too busy at work for me to have the day off. Hopefully it wont be a problem.

Roll on the 24th. I have been in this since the beginning (put my original pre-order in on the 10th of March!!!) and I must admit that although it has been a torturous wait, I do enjoy the exitement and the feeling of being really involved in the whole PS2 fanaticism.

Hi, my names Matt, I'm 24 and I'm a Playstation2-aholic.

I'm not booking the day off until I get that blasted collection letter!!! Don't want to tempt fate..... Fortunately my superiors, are fairly easy-going and I should be able to get the day off at the drop of a hat. As for looking forward to it, I am trying desparately to contain my enthusiasm, again until I get the collection letter. I don't think I've ever watched the letter-box so closely since my A-level results! I should be ashamed of myself, I'm 27 and should know better, but the fact is, ever since I was a kid, I've always missed out on launches such as this. I got my rubber keyed Speccy well after it's release, the Mega Drive didn't reach me until a couple of years after it's launch. The same goes for the Playstation, I had to wait for it to be more affordable. I promised myself that as soon as I could afford it, I'd be there at launch for the next big one, and as soon as the PS2 was announced, it was mine. And here I am, just weeks away and it's a weird feeling, so close but yet so far. The letter may tell me I've missed out on launch and to wait until March, it may confirm my launch day pick up. Whichever, I still think that the bitter-sweet anticipation, the tortuous wait may actually turn out to be more exciting than opening the blue box and playing the first game, or will it..............?
