Very dodgy, posting your e-mail address on a public forum...

Anyway, yes, you will still need a memory card. The on-board memory is only to store the game while you are playing it. If you want to save your position in a game to come back to it later (and you will, trust me!) then you need a memory card.

You *can* copy the software using a CD-writer, but that copy will *not* work on your PS2 without a mod-chip, and that is a risky business. Also, any games which come on DVD rather than CD will not copy unless you have a (currently expensive) DVD-writer.

So, in short, the answer is no, you can't copy the games.

In addition to the hardware, you'd also need a bit of technical knowledge, which - and I mean no offence by this - judging by your post, you don't have.

As a dad who nothing about PS2s or any thing about games consoles, but has one on order ,for the kids of course.
Does that mean you do not need those memory card thingies ?? And can you play it through the PC monitor
if so how ??
And can you copy the games (just for backup you understand ) with a cd writer and what software would one need????
If you want to reply personally then e-mail me @

Err... okay...

32 megabytes of general system RAM, 4 megabytes of video ram (for use of textures etc.) and 2 megabytes of memory for storing & playing audio.

I think that's about as plain as I can make it.
