"Grand Theft Auto 3 - still there?!?"

Its getting ridiculous now! More than 9 months since its release, its still in not only the PS2 chart but the All-Formats chart as well. What is going on?

Yeh, but why? Its a great game, and I`m not surprised its sold well, but to be still selling this well so many months on is just insane. Fair enough, its been bolstered by PC sales, but if you carefully compare the charts for PS2, PC and the All-format chart, you`ll see that the PC contribution isn`t all that much. The PS2 version of GTA3 is still selling extremely well.

Also, I know that all "anti-PS2" people reading this will be preparing to type something along the lines of "its the only good game on PS2, all the others are rubbish" or something, but thats just not true. Its review scores haven`t been as high as several other games on PS2, and I personally rate it as my 8th best game.

I think its brilliant that its doing so well, but its also just so surprising that I had to comment. I wonder if Miami will do the same, or will there be other titles that manage this kind of domination...

It was my favourite radio station as well. Although for music, mine was Head Radio.

I have also noticed this. A freind of mine is getting a PS2 for X-mas and he said he wonts GTA3, but the new one will be out I say. But he still wonts it.

I dont really play on it now I got the new titels (MOH: Frontline)

I suppose that's probably true. Despite its flaws, it has the kind of image that just attracts people whether they know about the game or not. Like I said, if it was me, there are seven other games that I`d go for above GTA3 - and there are others rated higher in magazines, like Pro Evo Soccer, MOH and others that aren`t in my chart as I don`t own them.

because every time some one buys a PS2 they get GTA3 because that is *the game* to get.
