In Japan, the total games sales for N64, last week, exceed the total number of PS2 games sales.

Now. That does shock even me. And not much shocks me.

(Boo.)

Brah!

Oh, its you.

(Mwa ha ha ha ha ha.)

I think I'll call you Murray from now on.

But then, the Playstation is basically dead and buried too.

Not many more games coming out for that...

N64 will live on, you will play it until the GC comes out, and you will be able to buy every classic game, for the machine for a mere fiver.
Great or what?
Don't you think this years and next years releases are pretty good even though Sony's Big machine is out soon and the Dreamcast is picking up the pace.

I don't see why N64 should die out when GameCube arrives, either. It's a perfectly good machine in its own right.

The new PSone is still selling well, even though PS2 will play PSone games. As GC isn't backward-compatible, I reckon N64 has an even better case for sticking around for a while yet.

N64, it's dying but won't be dead until the gamecube comes out. In the mean time we can enjoy loads of great cheap games!

Don't think so. The N64 is still pretty highly specified when you compare it to the next gen consoles. This little box has about 3 or 4 more years left in it at least, plus there will be a thriving second hand market opening up for games and consoles over this period. Plus even I, mighty Sony fan that I am, might even consider buying one.

If thats the case then why is there no displays in the shops for N64 games, but to have them in the bargin buy section(the only exception I have seen is Perfect Dark)on Gmae or WhSmiths. I have an N64 too and am getting Zelda, but I think that the N64 is just about dead and buried.

The N64 is far from finished. It hasnt got bucket loads of games coming out month after month, but it never has done. There are still a load of quality titles expected over the next few months, and beyond.

Zelda The Mask of Majora. Need I say more?

Star Wars Battle for Naboo is out in America soon and is looking amazing. With better handling and an improved Rouge Squadron engine this should be a title to watch out for. It is worth a mention that the music for this game is apparently some of the best the N64 has, which is a great acheivment from Lucasarts/Factor 5 considering the machines capabilities.

Excitebike 64 was reviewed by most gaming magazines months back. But for some reason it has been delayed untill January, but will definately be worth the wait. Every review that I have read gave it an average of 90% so you know its going to be good.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is another game I cannot wait to get. It was an above average game on the P.C but the N64 version has been totally redesigned. The story remains the same but the gameplay has been given a huge makeover. Should be worth getting as it is one the first 'Tomb Raider' style game on the Nintendo.

Bond The World is Not Enough. I have said before I dont think this will be as good as Goldeneye but it will be a top FPS. The way it has been designed it sounds like it plays exactly the same as Goldeneye so there isnt any major changes. People will buy this game purely because you can again play Bond.

Then there are these other games worth mentioning, some will be excellent while others we will wait and see:

-Banjo Tooie

-Conkers Bad Fur Day

-Dinosaur Planet

-WWF No Mercy

-Paper Mario

-Mickeys Speedway U.S

-Mega Man 64

-Spiderman

-Scooby Doo

-Mario Party 3

-Pokemon Puzzle League

-Pokemon Stadium 2

There is plenty of life left in the old dog yet. The sales over here should rocket once Zelda Majoras Mask is out then from there titles like Star Wars and WWF will sell bucket loads purely on the name itself.

At the end of the day it is good to see people still take note of the N64 which is a fine console and has provided us with some of the best moments in gaming history. It is just a shame that over here most shops have taken all N64 items off the shelves and refuse to take new stock.

Battle for Naboo is coming out for N64, and there's a couple of games not out here yet, so there's more.
