It's quite addictive to always be looking for the next improved weapon.. or another member for your party, but sooner or later it becomes hideously tedious. You'll have the max number of people in your party, and advneturing will involve collecting huge amounts of mostly useless equipment to sell on at the next shop. This collecting of equipment will be done in one of two ways....
On an easy difficulty setting, it will involve watching your team butcher ridiculous numbers of enemies. You pick up the goodies they drop.
On a hard difficulty setting it will involve swearing as your wizards and mules are repeatedly slain by the whordes of absurdly tough monsters that lay in wait around every corner. This means lots of reloading and/or running away, and then trying to pick off the enemies one by one.
I'm about 18 hours in, and I'm not sure I can be bothered to go any further....
