That's what I'd like to have said.
Unfortunately, the WWE surprised absolutely no-one by making Brock Lesnar the King of the Ring, guaranteeing this rookie a title shot, which he will undoubtedly win (otherwise what's the point). Now I'm not going to go into the (de)merits of Brock and the WWE, Grandprix has said what the general feeling is anyway. But I have a theory about why Brock Lesnar is being pushed to the moon.
The WWE are trying to create their own Goldberg.
Goldberg has been free from his old WCW AOL/Time Warner contract for ages, but hasn't signed. Apparently he is playing 'hardball' in negotiations, not turing up to meetings etc. And if he did, his wage packet would be massive. So, like WCW did, the WWE are manufacturing their own superstar by having him go on a massive undefeated streak, demolishing his opponents all the way to a title win. And all with hardly any charisma and little in-ring skill when compared to the likes of Angle, Benoit etc.
My view is that the WWE couldn't afford/couldn't be bothered to sign Goldberg, so to save themselves the expenditure they are just manufacturing their own ready made superstar - Brockberg.
Heh, I have nothing against Brock, only I feel RVd needed the push that Brock is about to get.
I think this is going to be a huge mistake by the WWE as Brock may be big but he sucks at promos etc and when he has been on TV for about 1 month and has already got a title shot it's crap as there are far more deserving people like Beniot and RVD.
But what they're doing is so blatantly obvious I s'pose, by the law of avarages and everything, that someone else might think it to...
:D
Anyway, i hope it dosen't happen like that, Hes not exactly a massively talented Wrestler, ok, Goldberg wasn't, but at least he was a Wrestler that got the WCW's ratings up, Brock hasn't exactly has he?!. But you are probably right about the WWE can't sign Goldberg. There's been weeks of "negotiations" but thats all.
