Well, last night the WWE delivered an absolute top notch PPV, including some classic matches and Rob Van Dam winning the King of the Ring tournament to have an Undisputed Title shot at Summerslam.

That's what I'd like to have said.

Unfortunately, the WWE surprised absolutely no-one by making Brock Lesnar the King of the Ring, guaranteeing this rookie a title shot, which he will undoubtedly win (otherwise what's the point). Now I'm not going to go into the (de)merits of Brock and the WWE, Grandprix has said what the general feeling is anyway. But I have a theory about why Brock Lesnar is being pushed to the moon.

The WWE are trying to create their own Goldberg.

Goldberg has been free from his old WCW AOL/Time Warner contract for ages, but hasn't signed. Apparently he is playing 'hardball' in negotiations, not turing up to meetings etc. And if he did, his wage packet would be massive. So, like WCW did, the WWE are manufacturing their own superstar by having him go on a massive undefeated streak, demolishing his opponents all the way to a title win. And all with hardly any charisma and little in-ring skill when compared to the likes of Angle, Benoit etc.

My view is that the WWE couldn't afford/couldn't be bothered to sign Goldberg, so to save themselves the expenditure they are just manufacturing their own ready made superstar - Brockberg.

I think the F5 is an excellent move. Actually, its probably the best thing about Lesner.

The F5 is good because it's not simple and looks superhuman especially when performed on someone like Rikishi although he should change the name.

They were not wrong, they were told by the WWF.

I like his move also he needs facial hair because he looks to young.

What if they were wrong?

Plus, I don't think Brock has ever actually SPOKEN...

The guy has no charisma...that's where he and Goldberg differ. But then, there's more. Brock doesn't LOOK tough. He should shave his head, and wear concealer or something to stop his face going so damn red. The guy's moveset is TOO COMPLICATED, the F5 is just too slow. See, the Spear and Jackhamer were quick, and cool looking.

People have already started the Goldberg chants in his matches.

Oh, and who said they're holding Benoit back? They made a huge deal of his return, and he's not even fit to wrestle yet. When he went out, he was at the very top. Who's to say, without Austin, he won't stay there?

Exactly, which is why Van Dam needed to win KOTR!

Brock needs to work on his promos as there crap acorrding to a wrestling mag (Power Slam) so that's why Paul Hayman is talking for him at the moment.

Right....let me get this straight...the WWE is holding back Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero and a host of other stars, not because they can't do it in the ring, but apparently because they don't give good interviews. Fair enough I thought...but then...has anyone EVER heard Brock Lesnar speak? :|

The time he was introduced was funny. Everyone in the arena stood up in amazement thinking that they had actually signed Goldberg.

Gillberg. He was the best.

I remeber he got beaten by Tiger Ali Singh in about 1 minute. He speared Singh, who got straight up and did his finisher.

His entrance rocked too!
