The origonal P4 boards only used RDram. I believe you have to upgrade in pairs and any empty slots need to have a crim inserted in to it

Silly Intel Boards eh, Arn't there slots for SDram? I thought they normally had both, might be worth your while to have a peep into your case.

Also, bah sorry I forgot to put this in...

I've been trying to get a little cash together for the summer so i can try Linux out, i've been wanting to use it for a quite a while, it looks very cool + it will hopefully be cool to learn about servers...etc not to mention I want to learn php so i'm hoping to do that as quick as possible so i'll probably spend quite a while indoors this summer although i'm hoping to be working through it anyway.

In other words, i'm hoping to spend a bit more time than usual this summer...guess i'm just a weirdo..good prices for me!!

also, 60Gb hdd (IDE) 7200rpm £53...
And thats without any tradesman discounts, and great customer services.

When did you get your other ram though? I'm pretty sure they didn't just cut it in half one day, more like 2/3 stages.

Half price? I don't think it's gone that far but it's certainly dropped quite a bit, 256Mb of DDR was £70 in February! it's a very reasonably price now.
