And to be totally honest, I don't know what to make of it. I rented it out for a couple of nights, and as soon as I heard the stirring war music, I was captivated. The opening landing absolutely blew me away, sometimes literally. :D

But I found it wierd. I knew I was playing an absolutely brilliant game, as atmospheric and realistic as any. But for some reason I feel flat once I stop - I don't know if that's down to the intensity of play, or what.

I'm interested - what are you thoughts on the game? I dont want any 'its wicked' comments, but proper opinions on the game.

Thanks.

:)

It just gets better for me - for some reason, the thing I like the most is that in some levels (level 3 I think) it feels like Indiana Jones, you know the bit in The Last Crusade where he is in the Nazi base?

Nah, it's just me then.

Hmmm, strange, me too, golds all the way and then the U Boat thingy and I got a bronze. Thought it was just me, maybe we're missing a room out or something?

I've just completely changed my mind about this game now because I've reached the Arnhem Knights level. Intense is not the word. If you thought Omaha Beach Landing in the first level was frantic, Arnhem Knights makes it look like a gentle stroll down the beach at sunset.

I've got past the first set of snipers, past the first tank, but now I'm struggling with the second tank, assorted infantry, heavy machine gunning, allied bodies being blown to bits, buildings crumpling, glass flying, rubble collapsing, mortar fire and general mayhem that the third area on this level offers. Wonder what the fourth pocket of pinned down troops has to offer? Can't wait. Wookiee you can buy it just to play this level, worth every penny.

I've played it a bit more today and I've changed my mind about it. I think it's pretty good now. Not brilliant but better than I thought.

Just completed the level where you have to destroy the U Boats. I only got a bronze though since I was messing around for the whole mission, not expecting to complete it. My first non-gold. NOOOO!

Okay, no worries... cheers anyway!

I'll try asking in the PC forum, just in case...

Oh my God, what a game!
First level fantastic, spent most of the time either shooting @ the bottom of the bunker or in the air.
Love the Thompson machine gun .
Felt down when bomb blew me up on sub but found mp40 from man and if you go round the back of the box u are in there is another mp40 with 32 bullets and an extra 64 bullets.

Hate that bit on 2nd mission when u are pinned down by the tank with a machine gun and missiles.

Sound all the way through is fantastic and creates a tense atmosphere.

Yep, ingame :)

I can't answer your reservations about getting this game Wookiee as I haven't played any MOH titles on the PC, this is my first MOH title in fact. Suffice to say it has more atmosphere than most other games (Silent Hill 2 excepted) and a great variety of locations. (So far anyway, I'm not half way through yet).

There's a good choice of controls, you can even customise your own layout and have the left joystick as look up/down - strafe and the right joystick as move forward/back - turn if that's your bag, so no complaints on the control. Of course mouse and keyboard is usually always better for control, especially when you're trying to pick off a gun turret from 1000ft away and the crosshairs keep jiggling about because of the concussion impacts from nearby explosives, the joypad control makes this quite hard.

But I have to say out of all my shooters it beats 007:AUF, Timespitters, RedFaction et al for sheer fun. When I review it I think it'll get an 8/10, maybe 9/10 if it gets better towards the end.

My copy of MOH:Frontline arrived in the post today from SR (ty very much SR). Coincidentally, I phoned work at 8:30am and told them I wouldn't be in today because I was sick. Obviously the cure for my sickness is to play MOH:F for 8 hours or so and then post my thoughts here. More later.
