I am currently playing as many games as I can, I am a self confessed game addict, in multi player mode as single player is getting boring however the lag time on the internet is awful therefore I am looking for the best deal in Broadband.
I have been recommended telewest(also known as Blueyonder) but feel that £33 a month is a bit much and there was no mention of connection fees.

Can anyone give me any advice?

Please.

I have Blueyonder(telewest) for three years now and it is £25. generally it is very good but like everything else it can go wrong. I nearlly always get very high speed links x10 or more and it is always on so no dial up ;0)

Pipex is £23 a month and is pretty good and everyone else seems to say they are the best. Though personally I'm not a big fan, I have it and am getting a 'no signal' a lot and they don't seem to want to respond to my E-mails. It maybe a BT problem, but still, not my favourtie ISP, but the cheapest.

Get pipex, it's the best deal out there. I have it. Although it could be better it's the best value for money. It's the only isp to have no set up charge at the moment. It's a shame you didn't decide earlier, as they were doing an offer where you could send them your current external modem and have it replaced for a brand new USB adsl modem. Never mind...

Check out http://www.adslguide.org - it's a good site for making decisions on which broadband to get - try comparing isps. But I'd go with pipex. If you are prepared to pay a setup charge freedom2surf plc I would also recommend...

NTL have an absolutely diabolical customer service record, which I have been (and currently am being) a victim of. I had the 64k service for £15 a month, which is a waste of time as it's only slightly quicker than a dialup modem. Permanent connection is good though.

That's not the first time I've heard Pipex mentioned, they were recommended by a friend of mine. Unfortunatly I don't have NTL only a BT line, my system is reasonablt up to date so I don't think I have an external modem, shame!!

Telewest (BlueYonder) is usually very good. Tonight, however, it went off for no apparent reason and me and my housemates were left without the internet. We had to watch Robocop on DVD but I didn't mind as it is a quality film.

NTL is cheap £25 a month if you already have TV and phone with them, otherwise you have got to subscribe to big package which is expensive. Most other ISPs charge £29.99 a month (ie freeserve)

I don't have a clue though.
