"The Origin of Link"

One of Nintendo's finest creations and one of the most-loved RPG-Advenure series' is the Legend of Zelda. No matter what the young elf does or is up to, we Zelda fans still seem to be happy with it and eagerly anticipate the arrival of every new Zelda adventure - even if it is cel-shaded!
Why, Zelda's so big it's almost as big as the Mario Bros.!
But Mario and Luigi games are still no.1 amongst Nintendo fans.

The origin of Link is still pretty much unknown.
All we really know is that in most adventures he is just a 10 year old pointy-eared elf-like kid with a whole lot of courage and stamina.
What we really want to know is who exactly he is, where he comes from, why Miyamoto chose him to be the star hero in the Legend of Zelda series.

Character ideas for anything can come from anywhere really, but they usually arise straight from the head of the guys at the top who know best. Not just in games, but in films, plays, cartoons and even comic books, the ideas all have to come from somehwere. There must be something out there that inspires these people to come up with the likes of Mickey Mouse, Andy Capp, and Neo from The Matrix.
So where does Link come from???

The Japanese (like Miyamoto) are very different to us Europeans, mainly because of the things they do that appear as very strange, odd and different to us. It's mainly things like eating Sushi non-stop, 24 hours-a-day. Or the fact that some of them live in a world free of stress thanks to meditation, while others sleep in places that are basically small cupboards in a futuristic world.
So could the idea of Link come from something like this??

I highly doubt it. Mainly because the world we live in today is far more advanced than the land of Hyrule. They still rely on Horse and Carts and haven't even heard or a Car before!!
So it's more than likely that Miyamoto had an interest in the olden days when things were so much simpler.

You wanna know what I think? Personally, I have a strong suspission that the characters known today as 'Link' is nothing more than an un-original design who has been created using the ideas of several other well-known characters, all rolled into one!

You don't believe me?? Then please,0 allow me to explain...

You must have noticed how Link is ALWAYS wearing those green cloth-like clothes in every single adventure, every time we see him. And even if it's not green, it's still the same type of thing if it's a different colour.
Can you think of anyone other character to have worn green before the Zelda days??? And there's also the hat and brown boots to go with it!
Well, Peter Pan is just one example, and to me is the one that proves my theory best! He also lived in a mystical land where he was the hero, saving the people of Never Never Land as a courageous young kid.
Coincidence?? I think not.

What's more, Peter Pan also used to fight Captain Hook and co. with his trusty old little Wooden Sword that always seemed to do the job. Doesn't Link have a sword too!? Of course he does! And it always seems to do the job against Ganondorf and his cronies also for Link, in every single adventure on the land of Hyrule.
Of course, hero's can't do all the work on their own, and just like any other hero, Link often has a little friendly companion with him on his adventures, in the form of a fairy. Wait a minute.... Pan has a fairy friend too! This is unbleievable!! So what if there names are different? Even if it is Tinkerbell, Navi or even Tatl - all the evidence points to the same thing!

So as you can see, there are a large number of characteristics that prove Link to be nothing more than a cheap (but more succesfull) immitation of the once famous Peter Pan! And even though they've both appeared in cartoon form more than once, this case isn't firmly closed yet. There's still more to be solved about the history of Link...

When playing one of the more recent Zelda games, Ocarina of Time or later, there's one thing we all love to use - and that's the Bow and Arrow (aka. Hero's Bow). When it comes to mastering archery there's only one man you should seek assistance of, and that's Robin Hood. The legendary man (kind of like Link) was once known well and loved by all, but Link has come along to steel his thunder. Without certain qualities of Mr.Hood, Link would simply not be, and Hyrule would be in 'eternal darkness'!
And as for his hair... well, anyone knows that back in the day, long hair with a bit of a shine was popular amongst all women (trying to attract women to Nintendo gaming see!).

So there you have it. Every piece of evidence makes sense, and proves that Link is no more than pieces of things we've seen before, all crammed together to make a succesfull and seemingly 'original' creation by the master that is Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.

So for the last 20 years or so, Nintendo fans have been led to believe that everything we've seen from them has come straight from Shigsy's head.
What do they take us for, idiots!!?? Well, they don't treat Europe too well anyway, do they!
With the case of Link's Origin exposed, are we only soon to discover the shocking truth of the likes of Mario, Luigi, and even Kirby!???

If this points to one thing, it's this: Shigeru Miyamoto is a fraud!!
And he's been pulling wool over our eyes for many many years now!
Damn you Shigsy! We trusted you!! :@

I always thought that Zelda games were a recreation of Shigsy's childhood. I remember reading somewhere that he used to explore caves as a kid, and he wanted to do something similar in a game, so Zelda(or Link for that matter) was born.

err..I'd just like to point out that he only had a fairy in OOT, and possibly Majora's Mask (I never played it).

Yes, right.
But it is surprising when you realise how similar he is in other ways to the Never Never Land hero Peter Pan!

Link is the young robin hood style character design yes... but thats just obvious... right?
