Personally I'd say that you need to work a lot more on your site content. Your newbie tutorial isn't really a 'tutorial' - I tend to get the message of "learn lots about computers" instead of specific information on a topic
As for site design in general it's very hard to rate. I would recommend maybe moving the content into a table, on 1024x768 I find a full screen width of text harder to read - narrow it down a bit. Also having some sort of menu system so that you can access all the pages without having to use the home link or back button to navigate around the site would make it a bit simpler.

Scrap the black background, I think important information sites need very clever laid out pages, loads of niggling tables here and there and some simple images...etc most tutorial websites use that idea.
Also try and write the tutorials yourself if you can.
Also(2) your home button doesn't work, you might want to change the link.
