Were it possible to travel into the past, that ability would already have been massively abused by future generations, quite easilly causing a paradox, destroying the universe. top stuff.
If you go back in time, you change things. If you change ANYTHING, you risk the possibility of the timeline being affected to the point where the time machine is never invented. But if it wasn't invented, how did you go back and change history so it wouldn't be invented? The answer is, you wouldn't, so time goes back to normal. But in normal reality, you created a time machine, went back and changed the past causing you no longer to invent the machine in the first place. I hope you're following.
Travel into the future is essentially possible, but not by clicking a button, you would literally have to travel there, and be visible doing so. And if you travel into the future, know that you cannot get back. So why would anyone want to do it?
