What? You are saying time travel would already have been exploited by generations which have not even existed yet, now thats impossible.

However, there is the question "Why aren't there MILLIONS of time travellors here now?" If time travel was invented sometime in the future, then from then until the end of time, people would travel through time. Assuming we live in an open universe, millions of people, and aliens, will travel back to this time, right here right now, during the life of the universe.... we should see them surely?
The answer is that there must be something preventing time travel. Although equations make it possible, they do not say it will happen. Perhaps the amount of power needed to do it will always exceed what any civilisation possesses? More realistically, maybe no civilisation will last long enough to develop it (Stephen Hawkings has said that humanity only has 2000 more years, and then we'll destroy ourselves!)
