One fine and sunny day, Shigeru Miyamoto, games designer and banjo player, was taking a stroll around his garden. A branch snagged on his foot, and he tripped over, hitting his head onto a rock as he fell…

He awoke, he wasn’t sure if he had been out for seconds, minutes, or hours. A noise came from behind a bush. Had that bush been there before?

“Pika! PikaCHU!” came the noise again. As Shigsy walked around the bush, he saw a small yellow rat. With pointy ears and an odd looking tail. The yellow rat pointed insistently towards a nearby rock with a small opening in it, insistently whining “Pika, Pika, CHU!”
“I can’t fit in there!” Shigsy replied, then felt a bit silly for talking to a rat, albeit a yellow rat that seemed to be trying to talk back. “Look, however many times you say ‘Pika’ it won’t make me fit in there!” shigsy answered to the incessant whining of the irritating rat.

Shigsy decided to leave the little rat to point and whine, but as he turned his back it jumped on his head and started pulling his hair. Shigsy threw the rat on the floor and bludgeoned it with a nearby stone, before kicking it a few more times just in case.

The sound of running water from the small waterfall water feature calmed Shigsy. He remembered how Ground Force had put it in as part of their games designers special series. Shigsy closed his eyes, and let his mind wander to Charlie Dimmocks large and unashamedly bouncy bosoms.

When he opened his eyes again, the sound seemed much louder. He looked around and saw a giant yellow carcass in front of him. It was the rat. But it sure had grown. His eyes frantically surveyed the landscape, but the truth dawned on him… like in some terrible kids movie, he had in fact been shrunk to a miniscule size…

Shigsy decided to go look at that rock the yellow rat had been pointing to before it was brutally hit with a, now bloodstained, rock. The hole in the rock now seemed to form some kind of an entrance… As Shigsy walked down the passage, things seemed to be becoming decidedly… wacky. The area looked like something out of a cartoon, and he noticed a snorting pig like guard nearby… behind him was a large wooden chest that seemed to glow with some kind of inner power. Shigsy stepped into the light hoping to reason with the pig, who seemed initially surprised, but then charged at Shigeru with a large spear.

As Shigsy ran back through the cave, he tripped up again. He was still awake when he hit the floor this time, and turned to see he had fallen over a small plant growing in the floor. He looked at its beauty for a moment, forgetting the snorting, and heavily armed pig thing not far behind. Shigsy decided he would take the plant for later, but pulling it up, a face emerged.

“Pi, Pi, Pik…” the plant said uncertainly.
“Not another bloody ‘Pi, Pi’ thing!” Shigsy said before kicking the plant in its’ face and running again to escape from the pig.

As he emerged outside the cave, he saw something of an army of plants. But not any plants… these ones had faces like that one he’d kicked… “oops.”

The plant things launched at Shigsy, but he ducked, and most of them went flying into the pig. It thrashed around, but they held on, biting it and hitting it until it fell over. Shigsy was suffering similar problems with the plant creatures pulling his hair and biting his ankles.

Shigsy remembered the water feature, and ran to it, in his new state it looked like Niagra falls. He jumped in, and the thrashing plants all seemed to drown. All but one blue one who kept on fighting, but Shigsy promptly ripped the plant off the things head, and it seemed to die.

As Shigsy left the water to dry himself off, an owl landed on the top of the water feature.

“Hoot, hoot!” it said, and Shigsy began to walk away. “You are the chosen fairy boy.” The owl said, and Shigsy quickly spun around, shocked at the prospect of a talking owl.
“Who you calling fairy boy, Owly!” Shigsy replied.
“You, Hoo, Hoo, are the fairy boy who will bring balance back to Hyrule once again!” Said the owl.
“I said stop calling me fairy boy!”
“I will now take you to the lost woods, fairy boy… you must find the Master Sword and return peace to the realm.” Said the owl as he swooped down and caught Shigsy in his claws.

Shigsy fought the owl punching and kicking at it’s claws, but to no avail. Eventually Shigsy was dropped. He closed his eyes. Seconds later he felt the earth beneath him…

He slowly opened his eyes. He was on the floor, a leaf in his mouth, and an owl perched on his head. As he looked around he noticed everything was normal sized again. And the yellow rat carcass seemed to be gone.

“That’s the last time I take LSD…” Shigsy muttered to himself.

SR have just got more Cubes to fill in the May back-orders, but no more.
And if you look around in those dreaded 'other stores', I reckon you're bound to find quite a few Cubes, mainly in black - I did. :)

It's worth taking a look, but maybe SR won't be too far-off now.

Well, I don't think SR have any Cubes in stock at the mo anyway do they...? And I don't know if they have any in any other stores in my area... I'll have to check it out at the weekend... but I don't think many places will have Cubes for a fair while, and I assume a quite large queue must have formed at SR for Cubes since they stopped taking orders for them a while back...

Anyway, we'll see what happens...

Bloomin Hell!!!

That's 2 free GameCube games for when I get one then! All I need is the actual console now... I'm looking on Ebay so may be able to get one over the next few days... if not I may have a look round some shops, but I doubt I'll be buying full price...

Well, cheers SR! Hope you enjoyed it :D
