Metal gear solid finally makes it to european shores but after all the hype im disapointed .
All weve been hearing for months is how great Kojimi is and who hes a genius for all the touches he put in, like floating beer cans, guards who pee on your head, a rubber duck-yes hideo its all very good, but if spent less time puting small cosmetic touches in the thing you could have created a few more areas to explore , or added a few new puzzles that werntretreads of the first MGS , and a few bosses who actually present a channlenge .
Add to this having to sit through cutscenes and calls on your earpiece ecery 5 seconds , and you cant help but feel the game is merly a little playable part of a movie, not the other way around.
All praise to the programmers like Rockstar for games like GTA3 which takes at least a few weeks to complete and has infinite replay value as there is so much freedom in the city.
In MGS 2 I wish less time had been spent on quirky things and more on the actual game .
What was the point of icluding weapons such as C4s , Claymores and automatic rifles?
You can get through most of the game with the MP9 for Gods sake !?
sORRY MR kojima , if ya want to make a movie, go to hollywood.
I prefer playing my games, not watching them .

Metal gear Solid 2 I'm sad to say doesn't have much replay value. There isn't much you can do because it's just too hard!

It would've been a lot better if guards were spaced out more, not so close together and you could do whatever you liked with them. I know it's too much to ask, but for a game like MGS2 this needs to be included so you want to play it again.

I've completed Metal Gear Solid 2, one of my highest anticipations and it just leaves me sunk in the mud. It doesn't have what's needed for me to play certain missions.

Damn right, Vottanator. MGS2 was a let down. The cut-scenes are too long and when you're in a hurry just to play the game, you have to press start about a million times.

Nah, I didn't think so. It was just ridiculous. They tried it make it TOO complex and it just sucked really.

It was a great game while it lasted but it didn't last very long at all. I did play it through it plenty of times and collected all the dog tags but it was so good while you were playing it that you just never stopped and because of that, it all went really quickly. Once I had all the dog tags I never played it again. I let my mate borrow it about a month ago and still haven't even asked for it back. Plus, it was a real disappointment what you got after getting EVERY dog tag.

"Well done, you are the ultimate soldier. Now download some desktop wallpapers and sounds." Oooooh, whoop de doo.

I LOVE ANIMA :0 and i "like " mgs
its just that i think the devolpers didnt do it justice, meaning that the game could have been made into the dynamite game of the ps2 , the game where ya say " i bought a ps2 to play mgs2,yknow,somin like that anyways.
And FF10 plays as a good game and movie and at the monet ,this GTA3,PRO EVOULTION and maybe VIRTUA FIGHTER 4 is what makes ps2 the punters choice

Personally, no I don't agree. I think it's an awesome game. Yes, it is like a playable movie, but in my view that's what makes it so good.

Some of the cutscenes are long, true, but that just adds to the atmosphere of the game. The plot is very complex and very 'fantastic', but no more so than many Japanese Manga films, and they are loved by millions. As is MGS2.
