This'll do.

Been looking for this for absolutely ages. Before I even came to SR. Couldn't buy it anywhere, and still can't.

So, as you can't buy it in the shops, I'd have a good guess that you won't mind you giving you a link for the game?

Excellent.

Anyway. It's called Albion, and it's an RPG. I played the demo of it years ago, and it lasted me AGES. Loads of stuff to do, cool little developing plot line, just good fun if you like this sort of thing, game to come back to inbetween revision sort of thing. Or even if you're new to RPG's, and you're interested in what they could be like. This was the first I played, and I loved it. Cool arcady graphics too.

Excellent. Hope it's as good as I remembered.

You can get it there.

No way, skies has to be the best. And theres a good reason for it, it's optimistic. Unlike every single FF game where some poor sod whose had a terrible life is fighting for their justice/freedom/better like (delete as applicable) theres none of that in SKies. Everyone in FF (and most RPGs) has some sort of dark shadowy past and all the nonsesne. Skies doesn't, the characters are optimistic, they've done nothing wrong, then when the biggist empire tries to take over they try to stop them. Plus, it also doesn't start in the middle of the night like so many RPGs do, like Golden Sun, Earthbound, Breath of Fire, Chrono Trigger etc etc. All those games start with your character in bed, then you get woken up cause the house is on fire/theres a storm/something bads happening etc, which just gets annoying.

There I cant help you... I did read that Ultima VII had recently been made freeware...Though a quick web Browse hasnt turned anything up (which suggests I'm probably completly wrong?)?

However, If you do run across it, you'll have no problems getting it to work with a 2MB graphics card (it was released around 1992-1993)...

(Actually Ultima IV is my all time favourite RPG, although since that had an 84/85 release I'm not so sure it'll stand up so well today... (also Ultima fans seem to prefer Ultima VII))

Well I got the game up and running, I thought my keyboard wasn't working at first because I couldn't skip the damn intro. (Which incidentally I had to sit through three times because my sounds needed configuring) :0)

Need to get used to the way the movement works though.

Seems ok so far, just crash landed on that planet, time to go walkabouts next.

I haven't played Ultima VII, therefore it would be unfair of me to compare it. Maybe we should say 'best RPG ever on a console' to make matter simpler.

When it comes to PC RPGs, I'm limited by a 2MB gfx problem at the moment, otherwise I'd never see the sun again because I'd be playing Baldur's Gate, Diablo 2, PlaneScape Torment (anything by Blizzard really) and probably Ultima VII as well.
