They are just complete trash. They are supposed to give you a rough idea of how good a team is but they need to find another way to do so.

Teams in there that shouldn't have been so high up there at the start of this tournament are Yugoslavia, Columbia, Czech Rep and USA. However, USA should earn themselves their position from their performance in this world cup. England should be above Germany. I think Brazil, Italy and Mexico will go up whilst Argentina and France fall down. Netherlands might drop a bit too, and the Rep. of Ireland should go up considerably. Sweden, Denmark will go up, and I think Japan and Korea may be in with a chance of making that top 20?
To be honest I think these FIFA rankings are a load of rubbish. They just base them on how well they do in tournaments, but the fact is in tournaments some teams are very lucky, whilsts others aren't. Despite Argentina going out, I still rate them as one of the best teamsi n the world even if I don't like them... and Brazil aren't too brilliant in defence yet they will be 1st...
