Well the French came up with a good load of excuses for their performance yesterday. I imagine 'we blame the heat' was on the list somewhere.

I blame the heat.

Ah, be fair - excuses come after the event. I said yesterday that it would be a slow game from England's point of view!

When I was in Florida last year, it only reached the high 80s and I couldn't run for 90 seconds - let alone 90 minutes in 94 degree heat!

They played a safe, albeit, boring game. But, they got the job done and we're in the second phase of the competition, so hat's off to em' I say.

I played football last year in Spain... at the hottest time... I lasted a few minutes.

The Koreans'll blame the heat when they go out, I tell you.
