I know there's a whole forum for this question, but I thought I'd get a better response here.

Where is Senegal?

I'm not particularly interested in football, but watching the matches this morning brought out this kind of primitive urge to smash fings wiv fase. It was exciting. World Cup holders knocked out by avergae Danes and mystery country. Cool! Now where is it?

An ironic fact is that Senegal is a French colony... though there's not too much rivalry between them, it's more of a healthy ivalry like England and India at Cricket.

The fact that it's a colony means they all speak French and any footballer of talent ups sticks and leaves for France to join their national team of superstars. Which is why it's very funny that France got knocked out and Senegal didn't, seeing as France have all of Senegal's best players.

It's in Northern Africa and that's about the extent of my knowledge...

oh no, wait! There's a legend who comes from Senegal called Boss MC. You cannot appreciate his geniusness unless you were subjected to a school French video called "Café des reves" which featured Boss MC as a French rapper who looks like Marcel Desailly and had an odd habit of churning out English phrases like "Hypercool!" and "yo yo yo" and, best of all, "Je rap, je rap, je rap pour toi!"... woah he's a true lyrical genius. There was also an English ginger called Wayne in the video who coined the phrase "Oh no! Oi've forgotten my sarnnde-witches" (failed attempt to convey the stupidness of his voice). Boss MC was a legend though, and he did a follow up video about Senegal, his home country. I am going to make a Boss MC site when I've finished my exams. He's so kitsch cool.

Near Donnegal?

Senegal could be meeting England in the next stage right?

Well, I was cheering for Senegal at the start of the world cup (you know why) but if they face England that will change.

Their Diouf (I think that's it?!?) player is really good, he just runs at the defence and doesn't give up. Plus he has a white head and no it's not dandruff, it looks pretty cool.

My Dad mad a cheesy joke about Senegal as he couldn't say it properly. About that actor, Steven Senegal (Segal).

And it is rather funny that the entire Senegal team play for French sides!

It's on the West Coast of Africa on the humpy bit and the coolest thing is that is was once a French colony and there are still political issues and rivalries between France and Senegal. The fact that Mr Viera was born in Senegal also added spice to the proceedings...
