Every console is portable. PCs with their monitors and cables are not portable, but consoles are. The fact that the Gamecube is marginally smaller than other consoles does not mean it's the only portable console - it means it is marginally smaller, and that's all. They are all still very portable.
You seem to class the smallest console as the only console that is portable.
It's like saying only cars that can go over 200mph can move.
What will you lot say when someone releases a console that is smaller than the Gamecube? Will the Gamecube all of a sudden not be portable, just like the Xbox and PS2 now? The Dreamcast was also very small, yet no-one claimed that as a selling point. Why not? Because it already had enough selling points that were much more valid - first 128-bit console, only console with working online games, first true next-gen console etc. etc.
The Dreamcast didn't need half-@rsed pointless and trivial selling points like 'it's so small you can take it anywhere!' because that is true of ALL consoles.
Perhaps the fact that Nintendo fans claim the size of the console makes it portable or not and then claim this as a selling point should not come as a surprise, as the majority of Nintendo fans are aged to suit the console? If Nintendo build a console to look like a dinky toy, and then make games to suit my little sisters, I suppose they can't complain when their fan-base is so young that they come up with lame positive points like the size of the console.
Step over the the Microsoft, Sony or Sega forums and you see things like 'specifications' and 'hardware' being talked about. This is because these are in fact adult consoles. No-one expects Nintendo fans to care about such things, as they are too obsessed with their cutesy little fluffy game characters to notice 'frame rate' or 'polygon count', but what they DO expect is that you appreciate that some people actually care about the POWER inside their console, and not just if it's small enough to fit down your Jap's eye or not.
At the end of the day if you lot want to sit there and get erections over your small consoles then you can do that, but don't try using it as a reason behind 'mine is better than yours' as it just makes you look stupid.
How many people have been unable to take their Xbox to another room because it was too big? None. Do you hang your Gamecubes on your eye-lashes to play on it, or do you stick it under your TV, exactly where you would stick an Xbox? How many people can take their Gamecube to places an Xbox cannot go? None. Why is this? Because SIZE DOESN'T MATTER.

No I don't, but it's a shame you're too stupid to see the metaphor. I would however be more likely to buy a dogshit than a GC :o)

Me too. ;-)) Actually I was watching the E3 tape I got and it got to the moment where the guy filming caught the footage of MGS Substance. Throughout the whole few minutes of the footage, all I could hear in the background was this yank guy screaming and sounding like he was having a screaming orgasm. It was annoying because it wasn't so much "I'm excited" shouting and screaming, it was more "look at me everyone, I'm loud". All you could hear in the background was "Yeah !" "OH **** YEAH !!!" "Oh My God !" "WOOOOOOOOOOOO !" "OH BABY !!!" "YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAH !!!!!". Everyone that has watched this tape with me so far has just wanted to kick the bloke square in the ball sack, he really was annoying.
;-))
Halo in my opinion deserves the 10/10 score, as did Mario 64 because at the time, it offered something new to its genre. They might not open up a new genre, but they are a big step forward in their own right. Mario 64 introduced the 3D platformer while Halo offers an amazing level of intelligent AI that makes it a lot more enjoyable to play through rather than shooting at gormless zombies that just run blindly at you as soon as they see you or are just all too happy to go back to guard duty as soon as you leg it round a corner after making a sound that gives off the equivelent of knocking a ton of steel polls and glass to the floor.

Snap... I was abou to reply to him along the same kind of line...

Personally I couldn't care if each console came with wings on and bought me beer, I bought my GC and PS2 to do a job, play games... I'm not interested in "Mines better than yours" or "This ones better (insert stupid excuse here...)"

My veiws are failry neutral.. I bought what appealed to me at the time, as long as it switches on and entertains me for a while, I'm happy. THough just for the record, I think the handle is quite cute, and ideally designed for beating children... excellent grip and ergonomics:-)

I'd be worried if you were to "blow your load" of something like that:)
As for consoles, I agree, all of them are great in their own way. What makes me laugh is that muppet Ninty fanboys will scream their heads off and thats fine, but as soon as anything is said back about the GC in a negative way, they throw a tantrum and chuck their dummy out the pram. Again, I'll add that not all Ninties are like this but there are plenty around.
As far as my view goes, I don't think I've said anything that can be seen as strictly not true. Its not like I've come in here and given the likes of "GC is stupid and crap cause it got a stupid handle, X-Box is da best."
So just because I'm not blowing my load over the likes of cell shaded Zelda and Mario Sunshine doesn't make my opinion wrong. I'm sure you don't jump in with all this "all consoles are great" stuff if you see a bunch of Ninties whining about the PS2 or X-Box so don't go jumping down my throat just because I'm not praising the GC as the best thing since sliced bread. At least I owned the console and looked into what it has to offer rather than just base a whole view of it from a 5 minutes play on a pod like a good number have done with the X-Box.
As for attention seeking - I don't need to mate, I know plenty of people on here. I'd be looking more in the direction of the newbie whos just tried to start a clever fight with the regular.
Also I believe that no game should get full marks nothing is perfect. and a mark out of ten is not accurate enough!

But they lap it up as "the best game ever" cause in its time which is now, it is widely seen as that. When Mario 64 got the label "best game ever", it was - in its time. Give it a couple of years from now no doubt another game will get the label.

True. A massive 3 games have got 10/10 from Edge before Halo. So Halo doesn't stand out at all, does it?
Oh, and the review may be the magazine's opinion, (personally I think the game is more like a 9/10, but I haven't played it to death), but it's the opinion of many magazines, and EDGE is hardly biased.
Sonic
When it comes to RPG's such as Zelda though, I actually look towards the likes of Project Ego now as it will offer a new enhanced experience whereas Nintendo decide to shove out the same thing and make it cell shaded.
