"The moral of this is this. It doesn't matter what the f**k I say, because even I do say just a bunch of horsesh*t, I'll always sound cool."
People look up to those that confuse them, but make it sound interesting. So when someone's confused, but it sounds interesting, they listen that little bit harder. You won't understand, because there's nothing to understand really. Pig goes to market, someone tells him to turn back, he doesn't, and gets turned into a coat. Bit boring now, isn't it?
But to add all the stuff in to confuse you, take you along little roads, that adds to the story. It makes you want to listen more because you have so much to follow, therefore making it cool.
And you only really understand when you're told anyway, which spoils the whole point of the story, maybe?
Not quite. Because now you've been confused, you're happy to listen to the explaination, instead of work it out yourself, even though you'll get less satisfaction from actually working it out yourself, because the story really is that crap.
But anyway, back to the point, the whole advert bases itself around smooth communication from Sam's voice, so even though you think you understand, you really don't. Because the story was never meant to be understood, it was just a way to make you listen.
Simple really. :0)
(Missed one point. The music. The music is put there to confuse the atmosphere too... listen to it. It jumps, bounces in a pattern that's difficult to repeat. Poncy films use it a lot. It's only there to help build a confusing atmosphere.)
Meh. Maybe. That's what I think, anyway.
Along with Tim Roth, Gary Oldman and Steve Buscemi.
I guess Lucas didn't him enough for being in the Star Wars movie.
Samuel L Jackson is now just another salesman on a level with that myopic mongoloid from the advert where he dances about and sings about banking.
I know what it is, it can be labelled, but I can't for the life of me find the words. Gah.
