"Grand Theft Auto 3"

Hi,
I am just getting into the game which looks and plays great. The problem I have is that I dont seem to be able to save the missions! After I complete a mission the game hints that its time to save but the buttons dont respond?? Can anyone help what do I have to press to save the game??

No, this time something scratched the centre on the disk quite badly so I'm going to have to purchase another one, damn. :~}

Your ignorance is excused as I never made myself clear as was distraught at the time. The C.D. must have moved in the box 'cos I was tilting the box forward to change speaker leads. I know, bloody stupid. Lesson learn't.
