This isn't intended to create hassle for the Freeola guys, but just to guage the requirements of users.

If you use Freeola for e-mail - either through the free service or through your own hosted domain - add your name here if you would like a WebMail interface to view your messages from anywhere.

I certainly do!

OK, here is a list of things I would like to see:

- MySQL.

- Web Mail, (like Hotmail) with the option of having your Web Mail control the whole system or not (ie if you delete an E-mail using the Web Mail, should it be deleted fully, so you cna still get it again using POP, if you read a message on Web Mail, should it still be downloadable via POP, if you check mail using POP, will it be available on Web Mail). Does that make sence???

- Ability to Upload/Send E-mail via a different Internet connection, regardless off weather your on Freeola ADSL or not (Maybe you want to Upload a page at someone else house, or College, work etc).

- Allowing Web Space users to use PHP/CGI Scripts to allow others to Uplaod files. I would use this, as I've have people Upload new photos to a specified Directory rather than E-mailing them to me.

- Allowing us to host multiple Domains, but as seperate sites and not pointing to the same index file.

- Allowing use to create 'masked' Usernames for E-mail Addresses, so we could let other people user our Domain for E-mail, but without giving them the ID you set. Because an E-mail ID is just the User I with a -001, -002 etc after then its easy to find out the Master User ID. Being able to set it so 'chrisjhaig' is really 'sr0123456-001' but the User won't know this would be cool, and this would go will weth the Web Mail :O).

- Setting up some sort of 'pointing' system. As You can't have Sub-Domains as such on Freeola Space, but a few people have asked for it. So in the Control panel you could allow use to set up say 'http://games.haignet.co.uk/' to actually point to 'http://www.haignet.co.uk/Games/Login.php'.

- Didn't use used to have Auto reply???? Or am I mistaken??? Anyway, would be nice to have it so on certain E-mail Addresses you can have it so it will send a pre-definded reply to anyone who sends an E-mail to that address. An Example could be 'Tha nkyou for your E-mail, I'm on holiday until 28th June so I'll get back to you then'.

- This would probably take up some time, and still, I thin kthis would have to be a freebie. But what about an internal Banner Exchange between users Web Space??? Where people who sign up put some code on their site for Adverts and the Banners are that of other Freeola Web Sites from customers.

- All these I've mentioned should be available to users of Both Freeola Dial up and ADSL.

- Web statistics.

- Probably to far to go for personal sites, but would you be able to allow SSL on sites?? I'm not really interested in this yet, but is it a possibilty?

Anymore and I'll let you know :o)

Oh and can I quickly ask, have you canned the plans for Freeola 0800?

I'm not sure on how much these things would cost you to do, so can't really suggest an priceing, but as you maybe able to guess, the cheaper the better :o).

Phew, thats quite a bit, but you told me to be demanding :o).

To be honest: a fiver a month. I would pay more for sql as and when I needed it, but otherwise I'd think of taking my hosting elsewhere. It's not that I'm particularly unhappy with the service, it's just the convenience of working within my current broadband connection.

The modular idea sounds like a good one: more for the more obscure server side includes etc. But for the basics £5 month.

Well, I would hope that WebMail would be offered as standard to at least anyone hosting a domain with you.

But, if it were 'packaged' with the ability to upload my website via standard FTP, send and receive e-mail through your domain servers, all over my existing NTL cable connection, I'd personally pay up to £10 a month, INCLUSIVE of VAT. The option to pay monthly, or annually with a slight discount would also be nice - you know, £10 a month, or £100 for a year sort of thing.

The problem here is that while people with broadband want the ability to upload using it, it's not going to be a regular thing, so they most likely aren't willing to pay a fortune for it each month.

With that in mind, maybe you could offer, say...

a) a reasonable one-off set-up fee with a low 'per use' cost, or
b) a higher set-up fee and a very low monthly fee, or
c) no set-up fee, but a low monthly fee with an additional 'per use' cost

Not sure if any of those would be considered reasonable from a business point of view, but you get the general idea.

MySQL is planned as a future option for Freeola ADSL customers and any external hosting package we offer.

Freeola ADSL and any external hosting package is likely to be modular with regards to any extra services so you pay only for the services you intend to use.

How much would MySQL be worth to you on a per monthly basis and can you think of any extra services that would be useful for your hosting?

CJH - demand as much as you want old boy!

Oh yeah, how about???

- WebMail.
- Ability to access E-mail and Upload via Dial-up or ADSL other than Freeola.
- MySQL for Web Space users.

for £5 a month????

or maybe include the MySQL thing on WebSpace for Freeola ADSL users???

It would also be nice if you can host mutiple sites on Freeola Space, like you can now, but have them as saperate sites and not all using the samce space, if you see what I mean??? If you introduce MySQL and WebMail for a monthly fee, it would be nice to be able to use all my Domain one one, rather than maybe a £5 a month for every seperate Account/Domain.

It cool that your asking for our input on this, I hope I haven't been to demanding :o).

To be honest, I don't think I would pay anything to have Web Mail, as I wouldn't use it very much, I just stick to the dial-up every so often, which works out cheaper.

If you were to include the ability to Upload via a different connection as well with Web Mail, then I'd say maybe £3, £4 or £5 a month?

Ah, but this was way before the PS2 was launched.

We are working on bringing you hosting services that free you from the Freeola connection in return for a small monthly fee.

The first example of this will be within the Freeola ADSL offering.

I'd like to give you more details at this point but I can't yet - sorry.

How much would you be willing to pay for WebMail with your Freeola1000 or Domain Name addresses if you didn't use Freeola to dial up? £5 a month, £3 a month, £1 a month?

Be honest..
