Messiah...

The reason for the Q being released in Japan only is because people there DON'T have DVD players! You see, DVD was basically invented in America, and then spread around the world. It only became big in Japan at around the time the PS2 came out... and you know what? Loads of people bought the PS2 SOLELY for DVD playing! Game sales were actually less than console sales, and DVD sales were 3 fold for several months after the PS2 release!

Of course, all that has changed now that games like MGS2 and the likes have been released...

So that's why the Q is being released in Japan. In fact, sales of it were higher than normal GC sales when it was released... people seemed to be waiting for a GC/DVD all in one.

Why it's not coming out in America is probably due to DVD players by themselves being so cheap there anyway. You see, in Japan the average DVD player, at the time of the PS2 launch, cost far more than the console, and so the console became an excellent option. So for the Q to do well in the West the price would have to be severely low... and seein how DVD players can cost as little as £100, I doubt it'd manage to do all that well.

And this gazza person is the one who came in to the Xbox and PS2 forums to say how rubbish they were.

If he really liked the GC so much, he would have known about this. I don't even want a GC (not my type) and I knew about it!
