datel are releasing a new action replay which enables you to play import games if you save the data to a memory card.

there are two versions:

£29.99 which is a cheat cartridge and import player

£19.99 only plays import.

i really want the £19.99 version but i cant find it anywhere (i'm aware its not out until 15th june)and also i was wondering, can you save import games on a UK memory card?

probably been said and asked a million times but oh well some assitance would be lovely.

Gangsta, all your TVs should be fine. The one in your room says it does 60Hz, so by that it'll mean PAL60, which is the thing the GC uses.

The downstairs TV does NTSC anyway, so will rn games through that. However, it'll also have PAL 60, so that'll be preferable (not very much difference at al though)

i have bought RGB scart, not the nintendo one though. mine runs fine and the games normally ask you if you want 60Hz. which tells you if you can run it. if you need to test your t.v. out buy your RGB cable from E.B or Game they give a 10 Day Money back gauntee. as for the boot up disc it's got beat buying a mod chip and soildering it in and opening the console. does this mean you can now burn cube games as well. for back up only!!

oh yeah and it says "Inputs for RGB".

also about 2weeks ago a mate gave me an american copy of turtles in time (for the SNES) and that worked fine, but would that have needed an NTSC TV?

yeah sorry i didnt mean to write "Do i need a US memory card" i've got two UK ones so it dont matter.

the TV in my room in the manual says:

PAL I 2 (whatever that means) but it does run 60hz.

the TV in my living room says PAL and NTSC 3.58/4.43 (video input)

plus in my living room i have an american video player and that works fine. so i gather it'll work in my living room (and thats cool cos thats resident evil in 32inch) but i cant be bothered to keep taking my cube downstairs so if my TV in my room runs 60hz will it run NTSC?

One more time...

YOU WILL NOT NEED AN AMERICAN MEM CARD to play american games through the Action Replay, even if what I have said is right...

If I am right, then you WILL need seperate cards to save America, Jap and UK games, however these need not be from the respective territories- they can all just be UK cards.

However, Datel may have got around this...

it should tell on your tv or in your tvs manual
my video and dvd or both auto switchable between NTSC and PAL. My video states that clearly on the front

Read the manual, near the end will most probably be a spec sheet with height, weight, power consumption etc. Look for colour system - it should say PAL & probably SECAM (the French TV system). If you are lucky it will also say NTSC 3.58 & 4.43. I cant remember which one of these two NTSC ones is needed to view an American signal, I think that it is 4.43. Most probably it will do both or neither. If it does this you will be laughing.

Now, for a better picture you should use an RGB scart. If your TV has a Scart, as most do, check if it is RGB compatible. The manual should say in the back the specs of all your terminals, ie "21-pin Euro Connector". Look for something that says RGB Input. If you can use an RGB lead then you dont have to worry about the whole NTSC colour compatibility thing. It sends the colour signal differently, so if RGB works for you in colour then any game from the USA or Japan will also be in colour.

The last thing is 60hz as an NTSC signal refreshes more quickly than a PAL one. If any of your current GC games work in 60hz then you will be fine.

Of course, if you have lost your TV's manual then try a region 1 DVD through a scart. If it is colour and the picture doesnt flicker then it seems that your telly is compatible.

when you wack the action replay in it saves to your memory card.

so why don't everyone just buy it, save it and then take it back?

so lets get s*** straight......

1) i'll most prolly need a US memory card to go wih resi'?

2) i'll need a NTSC compatable TV, so how do i know if mine's compatable? (and please dont say it's on most new TV's)

The point is NTSC and PAL are not compatable unless you have a switchable tv/video ect most new ones are and you are right i doubt anyone would last on one card youed need 2 or 3 at least but the how does A/R work if it alows you to use importated games does it it alow you to save both on the same memoery card?
