Goodnight and i love you all. xxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't think anyones won 3 times yet.
I wonder who will be the first...
There is the point that this way gives me a month to win another game, in which case I'd get both of them free! There are a few people who have won twice (including myself) but has anyone won THREE times? I've won both times with a pessimistic message so maybe I've been given the prizes to try and cheer me up a bit. Will it work? Just wait until the next 'Online gaming is great' topic and I'll be off on a rant again....
It wouldn't be good if the dreamcast started dying though, it's not ready yet. It still needs to release another years worth of games before it starts thinking about dying.
I think both games of your choice will be winners.
I will be getting MSR this Friday, but to be honest I'm more looking forward to Shenmue.
This FREE (Free Reactive Eyes Entertainment (I think)) concept sounds very nice, and the idea that everyone has their own lives within the game is a real breath of fresh air after having played RPG's for years. And as you know, in RPG's, townfolk just walk about waiting for you to talk to them.
Haven spoken to a few friends who have played the Japanese import, my expectations are very high. Also, I recently went to the Sega Premiere, and watched the trailer for the game. I can tell you now, you don't wanna miss this game.
Regardless of whether Shenmue is all that people say it is or not, you can guarantee this 7 year project by Yu Sazuki is going to be very special, because it's the first time something like this has been tried.
Oh yes, almost forgot about MSR. I do prefer arcade racers over Sims (altho I enjoyed F355 immensely) so I'm obviously looking forward to this one. But I do worry about the track design.
Sure it all looks great with the perfectly modelled cities (I saw the full version rolling today in my local shop), but after the novelty of it all wears off, you may find that the course design is actually bad for racing. I'm hoping all the alternative routes and courses will hold good tracks, but from what I played in the demo I was not too impressed.
Bur regardless, it's probably going to be a good game overall.
So Smoked-K, I think your choice comes down to whether you want a new game soon, or in December when Shenmue comes out :)
Referring back to the topic now, I disagree with some of you.
I think the future of gaming will still be bright IF companies like Sega and Nintendo are still around. Because it's obvious that Sega and Ninty are really crazy about games, hence all the innovative masterpieces that have come from these companies in the past years.
I fear that Sony and Microsoft will alter the gaming industry a bit, releasing lots of bad games (as seen on PSX, but I do not doubt that PSX had some great games either ie; MGS, GT/GT2, Driver, Tekken3 etc) and allow stretched franchises to go on and on (ie; EA's sports series, Ridge Racer, Tekken, GT).
Yes I have noticed that Sega and Ninty's success also lies in their franchises, but be honest now, those franchises are great. Who here does not think that the Mario games and Metroid games always have something different and innovative in their next installments? Exactly.
I was really happy to hear the rumours that Sega may well be developing for Nintendo in the near future, this can only mean great games for the future, and an un-bleak future at that.
I may sound like a Sony and Micro hater, but I'm not. I do own a PSX, and intend to get a PS2 and XBOX next year. I simply wish that if XBOX and PS2 do rule the future of gaming, they'd take the opportuniy to develop console gaming, and help it to climb the next step. NOT release tired, old, boring franchises that only mindless sheep will buy.
Ghost
GOD GET SHENMUE.
DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? GET SHENMUE!
Good.
I never said the N64 was dead, but it is nearing it's retirement stage. I sold mine after deciding it had nothing else to offer me personally, and later decided that I might have been wrong. That's why I've decided to hold out with my Dreamcast in case the same thing happens.
Have you got Deus Ex Dan_UK? I have, great game, but also, you can get the level editor/maker. It is REALLY good, and the levels you can make are unbelievable.
Dan_uk answers:
I've heard that it's a great game but my old P120 with no 3D card and only 16mb of ram isn't quite up to the job.
Ali, is there a competition where I can win one of Special Reserves lovely MAXX PC's?
