I have to agree with Gabbo, Vassell and Owen will be much better than Heskey and Owen. Due to them being unpredictable, skillful and fast. Heskey can only run and has little skill to get passed players espically at International level. To get passed players which is very rare, he has to rely on his strength to get him through but that is not easy against international level as international defenders are much stronger than the players in the premiership on a weekly basis.

Never seen Vassell play but he's a good goal scorer.

Vassell should definately start. He was given the chance to prove himself and I would call three goals in five games taking that chance. He's played excellent throughout this season for Villa and has been equally impressive for England.

To say he's not world class is true, only to a certain degree. He will be world class with more international experience and the world cup is a brilliant opportunity for him.

Take this into account, Vassell has scored three goals in five games, Heskey has scored three goals in twenty-six games. Vassell should start because him and Owen will cause defenders all sorts of problems.

Grease_Monkey i take it you have been reading the Daily Mail, they seem to have the same England Team as u. R u rwally Matt Lawton from the Daily Mail or r u just telling porkies?

Fowler is not world class, he may be a good finisher but he has not provided he is international class when he has got his chance. Anyway Sven does not believe that Fowler and Owen would make a good partnership so he will not have a chance to shown the world at this World Cup.

Well, Keskey has done good for England, Liverpool, and for Liverpool in Europe.

Yeh its true he deserves a chance, I rate him very highly but the point I was trying to make is at the moment we have limited world class players and other than Owen we have no world class striker, only good ones.
Vassell will be a future star and given the chance, so will Fowler for England.

Robbie Fowler should be but has never really been given a chance on the international front.

World Class is a term that is always mis-intrepreted..

A World class player has to be top class in Domestic, European and World Football...

What do you mean they are not world class, Vassel isn't but Fowler is one of the best finishers around and Sheringham has a brilliant football mind and has proved how good he is throughout his club and international career.
