As we all know, Dreamcast really is on its last legs in terms of games being released for it. So in dedication to such a great console, I thought of 25 real facts about the Dreamcast! It really is a record breaker, if you can come up with more, please add them to my list and correct me if I am wrong on them. I know its a bit sad but I have been very bored today! lol. Here we go:

1) First pure white console.
2) First console with a air fan and vent.
3) Second console to have 4 controller ports.
4) It WAS the smallest console ever.
5) First 128 bit and next-gen console.
6) First console to have anologue sticks built into the controller as standard.
7) First next-gen console not to use DVD's.
8) First console to haev online play and hence a modem.
9) First console to have built in date and time.
10) First console to a fishing rod and maracas as peripherals.
11) First console to have a memory card as the smallest hand held console ever!
12) First console to have a separate vibration socket.
13) First console ever to have memory cards in the controller.
14) It WAS the largest controller around (as in surface area).
15) First console to have actual 'triggers' as shoulder buttons.
16) First next-gen console to still use an ariel connection through a TV.
17) So far.. the first next-gen console to fail!
18) First next-gen console to have a CD lid.
19) First next-gen console to plummit to £50 brand new!
20) First next-gen console to have cheapest games (£30-40 RRP).
21) WAS the thickest console ever.
22) First console to support 60Hz TV.
23) First console to have its original games go multiplatform.
24) SEGA's last machine. (or is it?)

Finally, fact 25...

25) Dreamcast is the best next-gen console!!!

PHEW! I know its sad, but I finally have posted as many facts and records as possible. At least we can all say Dreamcast did leave a huge print in the console and gaming world!

Please add any more facts you know...

Woah! Take a chill pill Sonic Rav! Who has rocked ur boat?

I diddnt mean this topic to be taken dead seriously with reply and criticism to every single comment I made! In fact i se no point in ur post! You just put down every fact and even if there was a fact you just went sarcastic! No one else took this post seriously apart from you, everyone else just added there own comments.

This post was meant to be a bit of fun not just a chance to show off every minute knowledge in consoles you have around the world. Just chill out a bit, if you dont understand some of my posts, just ask me and I will explain.

To add to my earlier attack:

> 26) First and only console to be based on Windows NT technology,
> making it the perfect platfrom for homemade games.

The PSX was the first to be based on Sony's Operating system, which made it the perfect homemade game development console. After all, Sony released Yaroze- the PS2 home dev kit... Sega never did that.

> 27) First and only console name to appear on the front of a winning FA
> cup/Prem League football team.

And the Playstation is the only brand name to sponsor ITV's Champion's League coverage. WOW!

> 28) First console with those VMU controller thingies.

PocketStation on the Playstation ame first!

29) First console to have the lead from the controller to the machine coming from the bottom of the pad.

Hardly a good thing?

30) Only console to be called Dreamcast. :0)

Well, that's as good as the rest of them!

31)?? first controller to have anologue buttons i.e the trigger buttons

True! But it's been said 2 times before!

32) first non pc devise able to send e-mails.

The 64DD did this, and so did the N64 American add on that let you go online. Oh, and so many non-PCs can do email... Apple computers, mobile phones...

33) first console to able downloads

N64.

34) one of 2 consoles to have an on-line game over 2 platforms(dc and ps2), only in Japan

No... PC and Apple users can compete. Oh, and there were DC games that you could play against PC users!

So, any more?

> 1) First pure white console.

I'm not sure about that... wasn't there a white GB?

> 2) First console with a air fan and vent.

Actually, the first lot of consoles used a superior liquid cooling system. The later ones used the awefullly loud fan. Hardly a good thing really?

> 3) Second console to have 4 controller ports.

Wow... that's really impressive...

> 4) It WAS the smallest console ever.

The Sega Nomad was a game gear sized machine that played Mega Drive, Master System and Game Gear games. The mutimega was a CDplayer sized console that had all of this and Mega CD and (I think) 32X playback.

> 5) First 128 bit and next-gen console.

Why do people use the words "nex-gen" as though there hasn't been a last next gen, or one still to come?

> 6) First console to have anologue sticks built into the controller as
> standard.

N64

> 7) First next-gen console not to use DVD's.

Errr... depends what you mean by next gen- the PSX and N64 generation was the "next gen" at one time. Oh, and if the DC HAD used DVDs you ould have said "First next-gen console to use DVD's." The fact that it's the first "next gen" means you can say anything about it! First next gen console to play games!

> 8) First console to haev online play and hence a modem.

N64 did. In Japan there was the 64DD, in America a 3rd party modem.

> 9) First console to have built in date and time.

Neo Geo Pocket Colour did. As have many more.

> 10) First console to a fishing rod and maracas as peripherals.

Errrr... and the N64 was the first to have a "Nintendo expansion pack". The PS2 was the first to used "Sony memory cards". Great.

> 11) First console to have a memory card as the smallest hand held
> console ever!

Pocket Station on the Playstation was there first.

> 12) First console to have a separate vibration socket.

PSX had vibration built into the dual shock controllers. Surely a better thing?

> 13) First console ever to have memory cards in the controller.

N64

> 14) It WAS the largest controller around (as in surface area).

It was a copy of the NiGHTS! pad on the Saturn (actually, the NiGHTS pad was a bit bigger!)

> 15) First console to have actual 'triggers' as shoulder buttons.

Now that's true.

> 16) First next-gen console to still use an ariel connection through a
> TV.

As standard you mean? Well, after the Saturn was the first to come with a scart cable, which no one had, they thought they'd go with what everyone had. Hardly a good thing.

> 18) First next-gen console to have a CD lid.

It was also the first Next gen console to have a plastic casing, controller ports, the ability to play games, a logo.......

> 19) First next-gen console to plummit to £50 brand new!

By virtue that it was the first next gen console on the market.

> 20) First next-gen console to have cheapest games (£30-40
> RRP).

That makes no sense. First one to have cheapest games? What?

> 21) WAS the thickest console ever.

Errrr... Neo Geo probably beats it. How about the Nes?

> 22) First console to support 60Hz TV.

EVERY console release in America supported 60Hz! Oh, and as for England, there have been consoles (years back) that did this.

> 23) First console to have its original games go multiplatform.

That makes no sense. It's "original games". Errrr... the Saturn had Tomb Raider as an original game... that went multiplatform. Oh, and if you meant first party games- the Neo Geo wins (SNK)

> 24) SEGA's last machine. (or is it?)>

Is that an amazing fact? Here's one- the PSX was Sony's first console, and the PS2 was Sony's second.

Do they have to perform to your high standard?

The N64's Z button is obviously a trigger button, just in the center of the controller, and not one either side.

> 32) first non pc devise able to send e-mails.

Wrong, the Game Boy Color has been able to send emails using the Datel World Port, which was released before the Dreamcast I believe (I think the PSX version may have too).

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait just a cotton-pickin' minute there, Console_kid!!! Would the Dreamcast have actually got Sonic Adventure 2: Battle if it hadn't been discontinued? Obviously, the answer to this question is simply...NO, DAMNIT! Of course not! The Dreamcast DID already get Sonic Adventure 2 (the game that Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was ported from, surprisingly), so would SEGA really have bothered to release Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Dreamcast, AS WELL as Sonic Adventure 2?

Bloody Nora, no!

Nicky Campbell, 3 "L"'s, think about it!

Exactly! Just imagine the AMAZING SEGA games DC would be getting if DC did not fail:

Shenmue 3
Viruta Tennis 3
Virtua Fighter 4
Super Monkey Ball
Beach Spikers
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle

It makes me feel sick! Look at the games above and how amazign they are! And we would be playing them now on our DC if it had not failed!

ITS SUCH A SHAME!!! Dreamcast should not have failed!
