Back then, he had to design web shooters to fire webs from his arms and the spider was radioactive, now the spider that bites him is genetically changed (in keeping with the times, I guess) and he can actually shoot webs from his arms, yuck!
The film is full of action, comedy and all that hero pathos that goes with the origin story, but it still feels a bit short when it's finished. What is there is excellent, but I can't help feeling there could have been more to it. Toby Maguire is great as the geeky Peter, although Spidey could have had more wisecracks. Mr Jamerson (sp?) is so much like the comic version and the cartoons too, they've obviously gone all the way to model his speech and looks on the original.
Ok, so this is not supposed to be a review, only a few thoughts after watching the movie. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting superhero action in a popcorn style, but die-hard Spidey fans may be left wanting more from the movie.
------SPOILER ALERT, DON'T LOOK DOWN IF YOU DONT WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FILMS FINALE---------------
The only parts of the film that i felt stuck to the films advertising was the wrestling match, the part when peter chases his uncle's murderer, and the finale when Green goblin and spidy fight in the worn down building thing. The part when goblin inpails himself on the hover board looks very cool.
