Yamauchi stepping down was to be expected eventually, but I'm suprised that the chap that replaces him has only been in Ninty since 2000- a VERY odd decision for a Japanese company. (In Japan, when you start a job you expect it to go on for life, and you slowly work your way up).
However, I doublt it'll make any difference to the way the company is run- Miyamoto is almost entirely in charge of all game design now!
