No, not n64 related.

After looking about a bit, i worked out what the 'when i'm 64' things on their web site were about.

Preston north end currently have an auction on qxl to become a registered squad member for next season.
You get fully registered, home and away kits, all the paperwork, by way of a souvenier. You'll even be in the squad listings in home and away match programmes. If there were a huge injury crisis, you could even get on the bench for a game!
Note: *huge*

Now, there's 30 days left in the auction, the bidding is now £3400. Obviously short of a lottery win in the next month, i'm not getting it, but i'd love to place a bid, just so i could see it there. Except i'd be scared stiff of winning the thing!

Now tell me that's not the single best thing that money can buy.

I would, but i really would be trerrified of winning. It'd probably be up in the 4 grand region around now, though i've not checked since posting the topic.
I think i'll just buy a lottery.. sorry, 'lotto' (you pansy pink faced comedian sellout chimp. Not you mate ;O) ) ticket. Who knows, i might just be PNE #64 next season... (and hire a hitman to break enough kneecaps to get me on the pitch) ; D

Hmm, is there any central body that lists all the teams.. everywhere?
Maybe on a web site?

To be honest, i was pretty average at best back in high school. Need a team that's not too serious really. Bottom of div 2 would be great : )

Maybe there'll be different people in those teams near you now? Or it might be easier to get along with them?
But i'd agree, if you don't like your team mates, it takes most of the enjoyment out of it really.

Same here, I quit just over 2 years ago and i've been missing it ever since. I didn't really care that we came bottom of Div.2 every year, all I cared about was the fact that I was playing, and taking the corners - even hit the post with one once! ;D

I only quite cuz I got fed up with our manager. We literally had almost 30 players in total from everywhere, and I didn't even get a look-in!
The only reason they joined was because they were all from 'better clubs' and thought they would look like the star players of our team and get noticed by Scouts! LOSERS!

I was thinking about joining another team after, but there was no-one really near enough where I didn't hate over half of the team players!
After all, you can't always get along with people you don't like!

It did get me thinking actually, i'd love to get back into some kind of organised football.

Have no idea how good i am now though. I've not played much in a long time. Still, there should be some level for quite rubbish people out there. Hmm, how do i find it though...

Nice! Shame about the money though.

It'd be great though! I'd love to just walk out and play footy in a Stadium on REAL turf - even if it was Preston!

But i'd be scared stiff, I always used to get real nervous before a Sunday League match for god's sake!

Is not bad but you shouldntr have to buy yourself into a team, you should be chosen to be there by talent.
