it's messed up although everything works fine, i've tried changing my card's settings but nothings happening.
Also, Jedi Knight 2 won't work properly, my PC beats all the recommended specs, yet as soon as I load it it comes to a white screen and gives a squelching noise, I have to double click to get into the intro and onto the game, then it crashes again!
I'd be extreemly grateful for any help with either of the questions, thankyou for your time.
Thanks for everyones help :D much apreciated.
Download the latest drivers for your graphics card and your AGP port; then get DirectX 8.1 (or whatever the newest version is) from Microsoft. Restart in Safe Mode and uninstall DirectX; then go to the device manager and remove everything that might be graphics related.
Restart.
Best scenario: Windows recognises a new piece of hardware, you point it towards your new drivers, reinstall DirectX and everything works.
Worst scenario: nothing changes. In which case you're probably going to have to do some time consuming detective work with msconfig: disabling all your drivers etc, enabling them one by one, and restarting again and again until you find the culprit.
Have fun!
The games been deleted but it's still the same, i've got absolutly no idea whats wrong, i'll try finding the hardware though, don't know why I didn't try it before. Cheers :)
Can you remember what settings you changed, if so, can you put them back to the original settings?
Have you un-installed the game (you aren't seriously going to try playing it again are you?)? That might remove rogue files and help get your PC back to it's original state.
It is strange that you ran the game, it crashed, you rebooted and the problem remains! Sounds like it totally messed up your settings somehow.
It's still the same, it's a problem with the game, everything was fine until i ran the game, it worked (for about 20 secs) crashed and booted with this problem.
I then tried to run the game again after changing some settings (16bit gfx) and it crashed again leaving me nicely settles on 256 colours! it's definatly something to do with the game though, and somehow my 3d crd isn't being recognised now, it's something to do with the drivers as they re-install but don't do anything.
Tnanks for your help though
