What a pile of rubbish. Now, it may be news to you, but British Nationals don't always respect the laws either. Apparently, now this is hard to believe, the vast majority of crime occurring here is committed by British people. Amazing.
There are multiple reasons we shouldn't have this debate here, most notably because most people fail to differentiate between Illegal Immigrants and Asylum Seekers when discussing this issue. Oh, and most people know diddlysquat about the issue and their debates fall to the levels of "get rid of the dirty foreigners". It doesn't help that we only see pictures of gloating, 20-ish males arriving into he country, not the woman and children ravaged by poverty and the rigors of war who really do need our help.
This country has an aging population and unless we have people to fill the increased number of menial jobs then we'll be stuck and the NHS really will come to a standstill. The Government are already trying to recruit from abroad as our work-shy unemployed won't take these jobs. Added to that, many Asylum Seekers are skilled in tasks we need. You take a cross section of the British public and a cross section of Asylum Seekers and you'll find a similar proportion of doctors, teachers and similar professionals. These people will be good for our country.
Hey, but history tells us any country that's opened it's doors to immigrants (and we're only talking about a few Asylum Seekers) has reaped huge rewards. But who learns from history - we needed a Second World War to get the "Germany is dangerous" message.

They know that we are a soft touch. But I was watching the news today which explains that Tony Blair is taking personal charge of the asylum policy and that the British and French governments are debating a big camp near the channel.
I think this indicates that the public are getting fed up, though I don't mean to be prejudiced but I keep hearing things like all these refugees just play on arcades and stuff.
Something will have to be done if Labour want to save face.

They broke in to my house when we were on holiday and JUST took the N64 and the games!
It was the 17 year old kid that broke in and did it.
They said to the cops that they got an N64 (and all the games we had) from a car boot sale!!!
If asylum seekers respect english laws and rules than there is no reason to not let them in but if they go around dealing drugs and braking in buildings then they should be flown back to their own country or put in prison!

Yes I see you're point there.
But i think that if those are their reasons for wanting to come to the UK, then they cease to be Asylum Seekers and become plain Immigrants.
In which case they should have to go through the proper procedures to get to live here permanently. Not attempting to stow away on a train or cross the channel on a lilo.
If they are seeking asylum, they should be happy to be anywhere other than where they came from. They shouldn't be picky.
