***NEW GAME IS TORTURE***

Serious, real-life pain is the name of the latest game for computer fans. Players win by torturing each other with electric shocks, lashes, and burns.
Called the Painstation, it is a massive hit in Germany, where it was invented.
And now it's set to become the latest craze in britain.
To compete, you have to put one hand over a 'pain execution unit' while playing the game with the other.
Your opponent can deliver a three-second electric jolt, a lash from four-inch wires, or burns from a heat lamp.
Many have been left with hands covered in bruises and blisters- but they keep coming back for more.
Fans have flocked to computer fairs where the game has been on show. Inventors Tilman Reiff and Volker Morawe have been stunned by the response.
The games website http://www.khm.de/~morawe/pain station/painstation_eng.html (SR readers take out the space) had over 32,00 hits in just 2 days.
"people like it because it's fun, and they want to be seen as a tough guy" says Volker.
One player Dieter Volz, 26, of Cologne, said: "The pain builds until your hand hurst like hell- but it's so addictive. You just have to keep playing"
Volker said no one has reported lasting injuries, but people with heart conditions are advised not to play.
