I'm getting so fed up with online gaming at the moment! I play Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge online quite a lot now, and when I have a full decent game against someone, whether win or lose, I enjoy it.
However, the majority of these online gamers will not stay in it til the bitter end! It's so annoying!
They're virtually winning, nearly destroyed your base, but you just manage to pull through on the defensive. You repair and rebuild and manage to build a squad of Tanks and Rocketeers, and as soon as they see them coming, they quit!
What's the point in playing a game if you're not going to stick it out? Surely if they concentrated a bit more on their base defenses and not on the amount of tanks they have, they'd be able to defend themselves and counter-attack like I do.
But no! They're not prepared for a loss. They just play to build a few tanks and cause complete and utter annihilation. Gee, that's fun! Why play a game where you're gonna either win, or just quit? It's not very entertaining. Surely a loss would make you all the more ready for another attempt, and being beaten means you can learn from your mistakes and try again!
Bloody Americans! I shouldn't just blame them, it often happens on the European servers too. However, when playing the Europeans, they think they're gonna catch something because you don't know more than how to say your name in German or French! I find that not saying anything at all is going to get more games on European servers than even saying "hi" would.
Ah well, that's my ranting and raving for now on the matter of online gaming.

No its because you choose france. A player that plays defensively is called a "Turtle". Since france is the side a turtle player usualy goes i was asking if you were indeed a turtle.

Final Clan update, the abbriviated name for the team/clan is SRGAD because everything else I could think of was already taken.
If you want to join it, go to http://westwood.ea.com /westwoodonline /tournaments/redalert2 (remove spaces) and click on "Clan Manager" then "Search for clans" and search for "The Special Service", or alternatively search for "SRGAD" when selected "look in abbriviations" in the pulldown menu.

If you don't know, the clans are basically like teams. So if you win, the whole team gets a point, if you lose, then that gets recorded against the team.

Cool, you've got me convinsed to reinstall RA2 again edgy. Playing against people we know and talk to almost every day will, I think give us a better gaming experience than playing against people we don't know.

Also i was reminded of a funny story, this guy who was quite a good rank played against my brother. The game was winding on and it was becomming apparent that the other guy was going to win. Anyway the other guy launched a mass offensive on my brothers base, which pretty much crippled him, however he did manage to take out all of the attackers in the process. But we could see that he already had another army on its way, so my brother went about making a few pillboxes and some tanks, it wouldnt thwart the attack, but you have to die with dignity. Anyway the other guy kept messaging him saying "U R crap", "U R going to die", "Just give up", "you cant win" closely followed by another "U R crap". Anyway my brother didnt give in, he wanted to see it through. Then just after this guy started attacking my brother, the guy disconnected and my brother got the points for the game. It was sweet.
