"Have these forums influenced you at all?"

I realised the other day that I've changed since I've been coming to these fourms. I've been here for over a year now, so it the changes could just be me growing up and maturing, changing, as people do naturally.

But I don't think it is all down to that.

These forums, well, the people who post here, have changed the way I look at things. I've been introduced to different music since I've been on here. Goaty introduced me to Clutch, Grix introduced me to Sigur Ros, and I've downloaded countless songs on the recommendation of people on here.

No longer am I happy listening to the same old rubbish that Radio 1 plays all day.

I watch different films to what I used to. I used to be happy just watching Lethel Weapon 74 and the like, but I've started to see films like Pi, Battle Royale and Arlington Road on the recommendations of others. There's a list as long as your arm of other films mentioned on here that I want to see, but haven't got round to yet.

After all the discussions on here about religion (Ant :-D), politics, immigration, racism etc with Wookiee, Goaty and the rest, my outlook on life has changed as well.

So I feel that I wouldn't be the same person I am today if I hadn't found these forums.

So thanks to everyone on here who makes it such a great place.

I've become more arrogant, and my music knowledge has become much better than it's solely indie/light rock base before I joined.

Nope cant say its changed me at all.

This place effects my brain.

Heh, I knew the religion link would come in there somewhere. {:)

I agree with YH, these forums have improved the little maturity I had (not that much though) and my outlook on a lot of things in life. A lot of the time I am a naive (sp?) person, and so this place has helped me to learn from my mistakes. I can also respect a lot more of people's views now, as long as it's not "religion sucks ass" as some highly unintelligent cretin once wrote.

Oh, and it's improved my writing skills by a rather large amount.

But I still say "gay" at school. :D

True story -

I was dropped on my head shortly after birth actually (sometime before my first birthday, I believe). Fell out of a shopping trolley, onto the rather solid floor of the supermarket - head first.

Apparently I screamed like it was the end of the world, but I obviously don't remember it myself.

Luckily, it's had no effect on me whatsoever

*whistles innocently*

Duh.

Other than that I think the a lot of the people on these boards were dropped on their heads shortly after birth, I haven't changed at all.

Well, in the last couple of days I posted that poem in Life (Out of Reach, if you want to read it), don't think I'd have done that a few months ago, so I guess I must have changed.

Anyone that has been around 400 days can tell that I have changed quite a lot.
