The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
But I don't think it is all down to that.
These forums, well, the people who post here, have changed the way I look at things. I've been introduced to different music since I've been on here. Goaty introduced me to Clutch, Grix introduced me to Sigur Ros, and I've downloaded countless songs on the recommendation of people on here.
No longer am I happy listening to the same old rubbish that Radio 1 plays all day.
I watch different films to what I used to. I used to be happy just watching Lethel Weapon 74 and the like, but I've started to see films like Pi, Battle Royale and Arlington Road on the recommendations of others. There's a list as long as your arm of other films mentioned on here that I want to see, but haven't got round to yet.
After all the discussions on here about religion (Ant :-D), politics, immigration, racism etc with Wookiee, Goaty and the rest, my outlook on life has changed as well.
So I feel that I wouldn't be the same person I am today if I hadn't found these forums.
So thanks to everyone on here who makes it such a great place.

Muah! Mexcellent.
Sadly, none of my friends share the same taste in music as me. It's Ja Rule, Garage crap and Holly Valance for them. Twunts.
In terms of taste, and in terms of the way I think. This place is excellent if you're after recommendations for music or movies - most of my DVD and CD collections stem from this place. No longer am I a damn dirty nu-metal hippy.
Ah look, just there. 'Damn dirty' - that’s Mekas saying, that has spread throughout the forum. I also say heh, meh, peasant, and a few more that don't come to mind right now.
The way I think has been irreparably changed (damaged?) by reading some of the posts on here. I'm much more arrogant, because I know more about than most people my age from reading some of these posts. This is actually starting to alienate me in the 'real' world - I rant at my friends from time to time, amazed at their ignorance. In a way, I treat them in the same way that we treat newbies. Not a great thing to do. Real world friends don't want an intellectual conversation about middle eastern politics - that’s what forums are for.
Speaking of friends - they've been influenced by this place, in a way. I find all this great new music, I introduce it to them. I've got one girl hooked on Counting Crows in a way that caused me once to ask her 'Do you know someone called Rastabillyskank?'
Here you tend to get a much wider range of opinions on subjects. Goatboys take on smoking is particularly memorable. I experienced September 11th through here - the shock and sudden anger among people that I know fairly well (in a way) was disconcerting. I often find myself thinking things like 'What would
I know I don't post here all that much, but I read pretty much every topic in Life + Movies. It's just very hard to post alongside everyone else without feeling more than a little out of depth.
These forums have improved my typing by unimaginable proportions (may be exaggerated), and my outlook on other peoples opinions is far more respectable to them. Like Ortega said, I also think before I speak, and genuinely think, if the thing I'm going to say doesn't really have any meaning, then I won't say it, whereas before, I'd just say some crap, and people would say "shut up" (without the commas).
In short, these forums have made me a better person, and for that, I thank each and everyone in here, who without them, I would still be an ignorant, naive piece of trash.
*thanks everybody, just like the President does*
I also think out most potential conversations in my head and dont bother with the conversation If i'm pretty certain of the reply on the other end...
This place has made me buy a PS2. I would have never gone near a Sony machine before coming to these forums...
This place is pretty nice...
(2) Only now do I appreciate the value of good grammar and spelling.
(3) I now despair of the education system (see (2)).
