The increase in gaming technology over the past few years has been outstanding so what do we look for in the future.
I suggest some kind of portable console, I know there is the Gameboy etc. but they are not that good, my idea would be something like a portable Playstation. Now some people may say that this is stupid because it would still be large and have poor quality. But when the first computer was made which was the size of a room who would have thought years later we would have the laptop, so what I am saying in the near future we may develop the technology to do this.
The portable console could be similar in size to a portable CD player with some kind of head set, which could vary from a screen on glasses or this new idea I saw that sensors are attached to the head and it can give the affect that you are moving.
Whatever the future consoles may be it seems to look quite promising all the same.

Well for number one the new PSone has just been released and that is getting pretty small y'know. Anything like the playstation is gunna be that good if it is very small and It will be easily destructable. The game boy Advance comes out next year and with Nintendo slowly developing the Gameboy that will soon be a lot in time to come.
Also there is a portable Microsoft game thingy coming out and you can only imagine what thats gunna be like.

Not all portable CD systems skip - in fact, there are many that don't.
However, why not use the MiniDisc format? Skip-free, smaller, more robust, and the same capacity as a CD.
Ideally, I'd like a handheld PSone, with built-in LCD screen, and using the MiniDisc format. I'm sure Sony could also come up with a system to transfer existing PlayStation CD's to MD, using some kind of encryption to prevent piracy.

Well, the Gameboy Advance is out next year, so that should be a bit nearer to what you want. The problem with your suggestion is that the current portable CD systems still skip, so games would not be reliable if played off a cd that needed to be accessed often.
I know what you mean though, I'd like a portable system as powerful as the playstation too. Not going to happen this year though!

I don't remember that, but it does not seem that good because you need to go where there is a TV, the idea I am talking about is you could play it on a seat, in the car well you know what I mean!
I remember the Sega CD system, the multimega, which was basically the same size as a CD walkman and could be used as one too, but it also played megadrive and megacd games when plugged into a tv. This was quite useful to carry around, but unfortunatly it was too expensive and flopped. I have a friend who still has one of these.
