I suggest some kind of portable console, I know there is the Gameboy etc. but they are not that good, my idea would be something like a portable Playstation. Now some people may say that this is stupid because it would still be large and have poor quality. But when the first computer was made which was the size of a room who would have thought years later we would have the laptop, so what I am saying in the near future we may develop the technology to do this.
The portable console could be similar in size to a portable CD player with some kind of head set, which could vary from a screen on glasses or this new idea I saw that sensors are attached to the head and it can give the affect that you are moving.
Whatever the future consoles may be it seems to look quite promising all the same.
This is the most exciting shake up EVER in the video game industry. For the first time ever there is 4 consoles on the market and not one machine is doing too badly. PS2,
PS one, Dreamcast and N64. Do you see?
We as gamers have never been in such a good position. Competition equals cheaper prices. Who can ever forget the Sega Saturn retailing at £400? That was because
before the Playstation came along there was nothing. Now people are saying the PS2 is expensive at £299. Now that IS interesting.
Not only is the PS2 a brilliant peice of hardware but it can also play DVD movies. All that talk about the machine having poor DVD playback is rubbish. This is SONY.
And this is there element. Home Entertainment. The DVD player alone is worth £200.
And the machine is breathtaking. The game support is brilliant. The competition to make better games is forever increasing. Take a look at the launch titles -
SSX Snowboarding, Timesplitters, Tekken Tag etc. All Great Games.
Although there were a few dull titles - but who is to complain? At the end of the day, with a choice of over 40 games already - you never need to look at inferior games.
My opinion: Get a PS2 while you can. Ive got mine - and boy is it good. Beleive the hype - the PS2 will be here for a very long time - trust me. Expect to be still
playing on it in 2007.
POWER OF THE SHEEP
I do however think that the dreamcast as it uses CE based technology could easily make such a transfer to portable gaming and could well (if launched) save the future of sega.
Plus this is also shown it can be doen by the fact that CE devices already exist for around £400 with colour displays and cd roms.
Let me know what you think sheepy

I think the next gaming console should be a virtual reality console, one that you wear so you actually feel that you are there in the action. When an alien runs at you, you start to move a dodge them.
I realise technology is not that advanced at the present moment in time, but just think ahead 20 or 30 years, it could be possible.
In other words a hologram, something you might see on Star Trek, that they attach to their nerve at the back of the neck to send visual images to their mind.
Perhaps a room that produces images, as we never knows what is around the corner.
