to be honest it's not that mind blowing :
May 15, 2002 - IGNcube has learned that Nintendo's GameCube version of Legend of Zelda is going to see a release delay. The title, formerly set to ship this holiday -- in December, more specifically, according to major retailers, is being pushed by Nintendo into next year. It will debut February 2003, according to sources.
Legend of Zelda, the next in designer Shigeru Miyamoto's popular and critically acclaimed series, takes Link and characters into a stylized, cel-shaded 3D world complete with beautiful cartoon-like animation, and challenges players to an epic quest. The title's gameplay mechanics, from snippets of early video previewed, seem directly influenced by the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask before it.
No reasons have been given for the delay, but it is thought that Nintendo's team at Entertainment, Analysis and Development simply requires more time to adequately polish the gargantuan 3D adventure.
The absence of Zelda as a 2002 release puts a significant dent in Nintendo's overall lineup for this year, though with solid entries such as Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime, the cast of games is still strong.
An official announcement about the delay is expected to be made at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2002, or shortly there afterward.
Nintendo of America could not be reached for comment.
so we have to wait a bit longer ... at least it will be perfected.
Great news to hear that it's gunna be influenced by the 2 Zelda64 games, which means that it's gunna be one heck of an adventure, despite appearences!
Speaking of appearences, could this be why we'll see a typical Nintendo delay? Maybe they need to work extra hard on the game to make sure there will be NO MORE of those bugs and glitches in the graphics and animation.
You could suggest that they might be needing all this time to convert it from the cel-shaded look but I very much doubt this now!
Surely someone from inside Nintendo would've already leaked this info.!
I reckon we'll see it arrive about one year on from Mario Sunshine - at the latest! I can't wait though! :(
And no, Nintendo haven't officially announced anything about the OoT re-make. The info. was translated from a Dutch Nintendo web site.

I told you so...
While everyone was saying that Ninty had put the days of perpetual delays behind them, I guarantee you that this game will have more delays to come- I doubt we'll see it over here before Xmas next year...

However, buy Datel's Action Replay for GameCube (to be released soon) and you can play import games!
All you need to do then is to find a decent importer...
DOH!
Or am I mistaken? I doubt I'd buy it anyhoo, unless significant extras were added and the dungeons etc. were different enough to be interesting.
