Please Note: Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE) has recently been added by Warner and Columbia to certain Region 1 DVD’s. RCE will prevent the DVD from playing on some “Multi-Region” DVD players. If you are in any doubt that your player may not be able to play RCE DVD’s, we recommend that you do not order this title, as we are unable to accept returned RCE DVD’s.
I only watch DVD's on my PC. It allows me to change the region 5 times before it locks, however, I can reset the counter, effectively giving me a multi-region DVD player. As far as I understand it, I should therefore be able to watch this DVD on my player, yes? If anyone knows either way can you let me know. Don't wanna go spending money on a DVD I can't watch or return!
It was the first time I had seen it with all the swearing in it, and there's a few deleted scenes, plus the commentary with all the Goonies is pretty cool.
Sad? Yes. But it is The Goonies!
The Goonies will soon be mine....oh yes!
A word of warning for using a proper DVD player with RCE discs though, some of them will not work even if they are multi-region. Always try to test someone else's RCE disc first before buying one, or buy something really cheap that you know has RCE encryption to try it out.
RCE is a real problem though, if companies actually released the same discs with the same content in all countries, they wouldn't have to worry about it.
