I've read on a few websites that Microsoft are planning to bring it out on the PC in a few months' time. Halo isn't going to pull the numbers for the Xbox forever, not releasing it on the PC would be stupid.

Yes it is. X-Box only, MS paid the developers to make it an X-Box only title.

Why don't you wait... until it comes out on the PC? It's bot Boxclusive, y'know.

Not sure that a viable emulator exists for either PS2 or XBox. In fact, the last time I checked even Dreamcast emulators could do little more than display the Sega logo. The most promising next-gen format for emulation is the XBox because its architecture is so PC-like. Even so, it will be a while before our systems can play these games properly.

Shame really, because I'd really like to play Halo without giving Microsoft any more of my cash.

Commercial PCs don't exist that will play PS2 games. Well, maybe if you had a dual/quad CPU system, then maybe, but at that level you could buy 10 PS2s for the cost.

Not sure about the Xbox. It's architecture is closer to x86 than most of the other consoles (DC aside), so finding the hardware to run that emulator will be easier.

However, aside from the hardware obstacle, I'm not sure if the software required actually exists yet.

As I clearly stated in the Sega Genesis topic you must own the games you download. However, as it takes me between three and four hours to traverse my collection of antique arcade cabinets I have found it to be more convenient to put the ROMs onto my trusty hard drive. Anyone not lucky enough to own all those arcade machines will just be risking prison if they choose to download the games. I would never do anything so stupid.

Get Xnews, join a decent news provider like Giganews: then you can download illegal software to your heart's content. Or get yourself a copy of Kazaa and have your every movement recorded and sold on to record companies: your choice.

:D

you'll need Winzip:

it says it's an evaluation product but mine hasn't run out and I get all the functions I need (zipping/unzipping).
