I suppose PGR2 would be an obvious guess, but hardly famous. How about Outrun 2006?

Yeah, I'll give you that one. It was originally on Outrun 2 but it was also on the Coast to Coast game that was released a little while after.

Ah, that explains why it was familiar then as I had the PC version of Coast To Coast.

The song is called Night Flight and a website (can't remember which one) put it in the top 10 (I forget whether it was 1st or 2nd) of worst songs ever in a video game.

I didnt like much of the music in Coast to Coast anyway. Even the reimagining of the Outrun classic tunes was pretty rubbish.

And for some reason thinking of Outrun has made me remember Space Harrier which also had cool music so now I need to go play it. :)
